John Xuna

Hi, Mellowed! Thanks for your !vote at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/John Xuna. But would you consider removing the personal criticism of the user John Xuna, and just leaving your opinion about deleting the article? This user may or may not be the real John Xuna, and what you say about him may very well be true - but I would still rather see him get treated with courtesy and AGF. Thanks. --MelanieN (talk) 16:14, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

Games Finished

Alright buddy it's done. Well not completely I'm going to expand it to Top 100 instead of Top 50, but you can check it out if you want. I also wanted to apologize for my behavior towards you earlier. It was unprofessional and I was wrong to try to stir the pot. No hard feelings? Taffe316 (talk)

No hard feelings. I applaud you for the improvement to the article. Mellowed Fillmore (talk) 13:58, 19 May 2015 (UTC)

Ok nowwwwww it's done. Also as mentioned before I've also expanded two other similar articles to this one (see here), so if there are any other baseball stat articles you know of that could use a makeover, please send them my way.Taffe316 (talk) 05:25, 20 May 2015 (UTC)

Nicely done! Mellowed Fillmore (talk) 14:40, 20 May 2015 (UTC)

Something seems not right about recent edits at Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Baseball; please note that another editor has raised this at WP:ANI#Why is every article on AFD now listed under the category baseball?. Best, --Arxiloxos (talk) 05:05, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

what do Hillsong Church plants have to do with baseball?

Not entirely clear. I removed your addition of the AfDs to to the baseball list, but if I'm wrong and missed the connect, feel free to revert, but explain why. Thanks. Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:10, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

Oh, I see. It was intentionally unconstructive. I missed that angle. Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:11, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
Same question here. And on a number of other non-baseball pages, where you have recently added them to the AfDs to baseball list. --Epeefleche (talk) 08:55, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for an unexplained spree of edits that suggest a compromised account. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Abecedare (talk) 05:06, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
Sorry for the block without any prior warning, but can you explain the reasoning behind your recent deletion sorting edits? I'd be happy to unblock as soon as we can be confident that the account is not compromised or, inexplicable as it seems, there is a rational explanation behind the edits. Abecedare (talk) 05:09, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

information Administrator note Contrary to my suspicion/hope CU indicates that Mellowed Fillmore is in control of the account and thus were responsible for the vandalism spree. Abecedare (talk) 05:46, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

I'd think "automated script freaked out" more likely than "vandalism". MF, what happened? Surely you know that a {{retired}} banner isn't necessary? If it was an automated script, just say so. Not really sure what's going on, but whatever it is, thanks for all the work you've done here, and you're welcome back anytime. --Floquenbeam (talk) 13:15, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
@Flo -- I'm not aware how any automated script one would create would have the function of doing what we see here. But perhaps you are more expert than I am. And yes -- at the end of it all MF did appear to apply the retired banner, which seems not to be an automated script action of course. Still, it is puzzling. Epeefleche (talk) 13:22, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
Mellowed Fillmore, if there is any kind of an explanation for the odd editing behavior that occurred after midnight last night, Abecedare and Floquenbeam would like to hear it and unblock you. Some of us would sincerely like to know what happened -- as "vandalism" goes, this is pretty thin stuff. I would hate to see WP:Baseball lose the benefit of your productive work at AfD and deletion sorting. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 14:24, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Unblocked: Hi MF, I'm confident enough that this was a scripting error of some kind that I'm going to go ahead and unblock, mostly to make sure you understand that this hiccup is not a big deal. I think several people are puzzled and would eventually like to know what happened once you come back (and probably before you start del-sorting again!). But in the mean time, you're not blocked anymore. --Floquenbeam (talk) 15:07, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
  • And.... reblocked, this time at your request. Yeah, you shouldn't have done that, but I understand the feeling. Next time just call me a poopyhead or something, less work for other people. Anyway, if you ever change your mind, a {{unblock}} is all you'll likely need; this "destroying my wiki-career" thing is overstating things by a lot. Good bye and good luck. --Floquenbeam (talk) 15:34, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Well, you aren't a poopyhead. Besides, I was also trying to see how long I could go before someone stopped me. There was somewhat of a point to my disruption (which is better than disruption that is completely pointless, such as namecalling). Hopefully the point will be heeded, but I guess it doesn't make any difference to me. Mellowed Fillmore (talk) 15:39, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Mellowed Fillmore, I don't believe I have run across you before but in applying the block (and trying to understand your spree) I did review your past contributions, talk page etc, and came to see the positive contributions you made. While I can't condone the exit you chose, I can understand it. Real life should takes priority. And if you ever feel ready to resume editing here, I'd be happy to see you back. Cheers. Not sure what this discussion was ever supposed to accomplish, but it has outlived its usefulness.

Mellowed Fillmore, less than a month ago, you reported me to ANI for one of the most spurious reasons imaginable, now today you cause this amount of damage and waste a significant amount of others time in an extraordinary vandalising fit. Choosing to leave Wikipedia is perfectly acceptable and somewhat commendable (!) but doing it in such an unconstructive, vain and selfish way by seeing what you can get away with is pretty poor conduct. AusLondonder (talk) 16:34, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
If my ANI report was so spurios, how come you got blocked by an uninvolved admin? I'm not sure what you expect to accomplish by posting here, other than to once again hightlight your extreme hypocrisy. Mellowed Fillmore (talk) 16:41, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) You now say this is 'vile and vindictive' but surely your actions, in wasting such a significant amount of time to make a WP:POINT and see what you could get away with rather than quietly and gracefully retiring with an unblemished record fits the definition of vile and vindictive to the letter? AusLondonder (talk) 16:45, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
Not only do you not understand the meanings of the words 'vile' and 'vindictive', but you have completely missed the point. In regards to my doing this to see how long I could get away with it, I was doing so to make the point that there aren't enough eyes looking out for this kind of thing. Wikipedia is a massively relied-upon host of information and there are not nearly enough people with the janitorial tools. In that I was trying to highlight a problem, my actions could almost be construed as helpful. But of course you aren't willing to see it that way. You'd much rather shoot the messenger, since you have a grudge against him. Mellowed Fillmore (talk) 16:54, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
I was blocked for 24 hours, however I have discussed the block in detail with the blocking admin. Admins have recognised my good contributions to the project, and I have not been blocked since. It was also recognised others had behaved poorly, but were too 'entrenched' to face action. AusLondonder (talk) 16:45, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
I'm not grave-dancing, I just thought what you did was pretty shocking and selfish. It's great you decided to retire, but why leave such a mess for others to clean up? AusLondonder (talk) 16:47, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
It should be pretty obvious that you had nothing to gain by posting here, except to gravedance. Telling me that it was commendable for me to leave is very thoughtless, perhaps to the point of incompetence. I have done far more for this encyclopedia than you. Mellowed Fillmore (talk) 16:54, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
I mean commendable to put your off-wiki life first and leave a time-consuming and sometimes stressful yet addictive project. By the way, I have created 56 non-deleted pages. AusLondonder (talk) 16:57, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
I don't care how many pages you have created on marginally notable topics. You are hyper-sensitive and overreact to every little thing, consantly advising others to strike comments and misconstruing things as offensive when they aren't. It's too bad that you don't have the slightest bit of sensitivity toward anyone else. Furthermore, you still haven't explained why you are posting here.
