Portuguese people dispute[edit]
Hi Melroross, I have no comment on which content version is more correct but the IP and NormanGear have used a source, and quoted from it. So it may be an invalid interpretation, or the source may not be reliable, etc but this really is not vandalism and "MALICIOUS edits" as you claim. I would advise you to address the claims, content and source and not the editors - They have stared a discussion on the talk page for this purpose.
If now or in future you wish to report a sock puppet the correct place is Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations, however in this case moving from an IP to an account is not Sock puppetry and they have said they will continue with the account. Also to ask for a page to be protected you need to file a request at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. It’s not that the materials are unsourced, they are misplaced and malicious- this topic is already sourced in the sub-topic ‘Genetics of the Iberian Peninsula’ which also contains a sub-sub-section specific to Portugal. - Hey Melroross, happy to help - finding the correct pages for the different reports is not always easy. Note that it is only protected for a day so the dispute can be discussed. As I do not know the subject I could not comment on the validity, and I know there are many such conflicts in these types of subject. Some are based on malicious purpose but many are just a simple difference of opinion, but what goes in the lead section needs to be as unbiased as possible. Sometimes the best solution is to find wording that is more neutral and exacting to the sources. The wording that I believe they are questioning is "limited conversions" and is not directly from the source, maybe a rewording would make them happy? See WP:OVERLINK, let's assume the general reader has an inklinking of an idea what is meant by 'Canada' in that context.
