Help to reference my new pages[edit]

Someone should volunteer and reference my pages for me. Mensah-diawuo (talk) 07:47, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It would be best if you find the sourcing beforehand when creating new articles. Please review the notability guidelines before creating more pages. Please follow the links in the messages I've left you. It would be best if you use the WP:AFC process to create any more pages and or the Wikipedia:Article Wizard.-- Deepfriedokra 12:21, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

 Mathew Essieh has been deleted
Hello, Mensah-diawuo. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. I'm sorry, but  Mathew Essieh has been deleted as meeting WP:CSD#G11. "This applies to pages that are exclusively promotional and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to conform with Wikipedia:NOTFORPROMOTION." These must be rewritten from scratch from "reliable, third party sources unconnected to the subject." See WP:RS.

Wikipedia:Identifying blatant advertising#Typical signs of blatant advertising contains information about content to avoid. For more information on content that may be perceived as promotional, click User:Dlohcierekim/promo. These are just rough guides. Pages can avoid all those pitfalls and still be glaringly obvious ad copy. Sometimes pages meeting WP:CSD#G11 give the appearance of an editor violating Wikipedia:Conflict of interest or WP:PAID. Please read and heed them if they apply to you. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations.

There is a very common mistake of assuming that the prohibition against promotional editing applies only to promotion for commercial gain, but that is not so. Sometimes creators of promotional content are bewildered that it is considered such. If one has has been trained to write or spent some time writing corporate documents or mission/vision statements or anything similar, they may simply be blind to the promotionality. It can be hard to unlearn.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Please see Wikipedia:Citing sources . Template:cite has templates you can use in citing your sources. Place the template {{references}} at the bottom of the page, and references cited in the text will appear there.

The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems. -- Deepfriedokra 12:17, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

 Mathew Essieh has been deleted

Hello, Mensah-diawuo. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia. I'm sorry, but  Mathew Essieh has been deleted as meeting WP:CSD#G12. Wikipedia is the world's largest free content encyclopedia. As such, it cannot contain content copyrighted elsewhere. Such content must be removed immediately and completely rewritten and reformatted from scratch. Content published elsewhere copied into Wikipedia must state that it is public domain, licensed under the GFDL, or a creative commons license. That's the simple version. WP:copyright is a vastly complex issue, but if you keep to what I've written you are unlikely to run afoul.

Wikipedia cannot accept material copied from elsewhere, unless it explicitly and verifiably has been released to the world under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license or into the public domain and is written in an acceptable tonethis includes material that you own the copyright to. You should attribute content to outside sources, using citations, but copying and pasting or closely paraphrasing sources is not acceptable.

Content copied and pasted from a subject's web page is generally unhelpful. It is generally written in a promotional tone and is not independent of the subject. All content must be cited from reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and have a reputation for fact checking. Cheers, and happy editing.

Your contributed article, Siaka Stevens (Ghanaian Politician)[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Siaka Stevens (Ghanaian Politician). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Siaka Stevens (Ghanaian politician). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Siaka Stevens (Ghanaian politician). If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. David Biddulph (talk) 12:37, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Haruna Maamah[edit]

Hello, Mensah-diawuo

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Slatersteven and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Haruna Maamah, should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Haruna Maamah.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Slatersteven}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Please do not delete my page[edit]

@Slatersteven: Please do not delete my page. I am a beginner and only have problems with referencing. Someone should volunteer and help me reference my pages.Mensah-diawuo (talk) 14:40, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

((ec))As I mentioned before. It's up to you to provide sourcing for content you add. Surely you know where you got the information. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia; sourcing is especially important when writing about living people. Please reread the messages I left you already. Please do not create more unsourced pages.-- Deepfriedokra 14:48, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Thaddeus Mensah requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. I would suggest that you use your sandbox, then contact me and ask if it passes notability. If I say no just delete it.Slatersteven (talk) 14:58, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I also feel wp:copy might be worth a read, too many copy right violations can lead to blocks.Slatersteven (talk) 15:54, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to Sampa, Ghana have been reverted. If you believe that the individuals are notable within Wikipedia's definition, the advice is WP:WTAF. In your case, of course, having seen your previous attempts, you should not try to write an article in mainspace, but you should submit drafts through the AFC process. --David Biddulph (talk) 11:46, 17 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The page Seth Appiah-Mensah has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done for the following reason:
