my article on mr. harishanker tiwari was deleted despite my request about not deleting it. if you are an american how could you possibly know about the stature of the person and your page informs about breasts and melons! is that justified. sorry lady! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rishiwelcome (talkcontribs) 18:54, 4 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

working on Tela Jeanette Kawas National Park

Why do you delete a work in progress? I'm going to Tela next week and I'll be visiting the Jeanette Kawas National Park and you've deleted the page WHILE I WAS WORKING ON IT! That is a little bit too quick. I wanted to collect and cross-reference species found there and write up an history of the park. Rngadam 19:46, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, ok, thanks for the tip you left on my talk page... This is my first attempt at an edit so I didn't there was a separate drafting mechanism. Riata Apartment Community

I live at Riata (Austin, TX), I wanted to start a page on the place to collect what people think about it and give useful facts. Even though the page was deleted citing Csd g11- I was not providing advertising, I thought it would be cool to have a page on my apartment to collect information on it- is there a better place for this??

Thanks,

I got your response, it makes sense- thanks for the feedback

Why did you delete Angara Inc. again?

I am new to this thing so I was working with it in good faith. I saw what you meant about the promoting or advertising the site so I recreated it with a bare bones skeleton approach and just put it in as a reference... Company name, website, CEO and article ON the WEB that are related to it that I or Angara did not write...so it was only actual official links to other sites that mention Angara... Please tell me what I did wrong THIS time that you deleted it, as I am at a loss. Thank you.

Your deletion of Jewdar

Could you please initiate the deletion review and then let me know on my TP? To tell the truth, I have no idea how to do any of the advanced stuff on Wikipedia 'cause I'm just a lowly grunt. Seriously though, this is a very well developed article with MANY sources as opposed to the dozens if not hundreds of articles on neologisms and other newish words/concepts aren't sourced at all. So, I ask: why was this article deleted again, especially since I've just updated/improved it by adding even more links to valid and mainstream sources? --WassermannNYC 20:10, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I seriously don't understand how to do all of that stuff when it comes to all of that code and procedure. I'm kind of old and computer illiterate when it comes to all of that. Nevermind I guess; it'll just have to re-created again at a later date. I might try to figure it all out later. --WassermannNYC 20:29, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BTW: please DO NOT, under any circumstances, EVER AGAIN alter anything that I've added to my own TP. I don't know if this behavior is common with you, but you obviously should not be tampering with the talk pages of any user on Wikipedia unless it is to revert personal attacks. --WassermannNYC 09:28, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WassermannNYC, you are misusing your talk page, that's why Merope removed the article. Your talk page is for communication with you, not hosting deleted content. If you need to create a draft, it should be a subpage of your user space. Leebo86 11:29, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No Clue as why you deleted it as I was typing it.

Was making a reference to what the thing was. Was using Microsoft Office as an example. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Akc9000 (talkcontribs) 20:11, 4 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Creating an Article

No, this article is not about me. We are related, but I assure you I am not Barry L. Zubrow. Please let me submit this article, which I worked very hard on. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mrzubrow (talkcontribs) 21:20, 4 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Also, who are you to judge whether the person whom I wrote on deserves their own article. They definitely do deserve an article because there are a number of articles which mention this person (which I did not contribute) where his name is mentioned. Some of these articles include Friends Central School and Goldman Sachs. Therefore, it is beneficial to Wikipedia to include this article.

What are your notability standards? He is well known in New Jersey political spheres and throughout the financial world. If this were not true then there would not be extensive information about him on the internet. Clearly, from the sources I sited (and there are other sources which I didn't use), he must be relatively well-known.

I'm sorry: I did not mean to question your ability to administrate Wikipedia. You are doing a good job. I am just frustrated because I worked hard to produce an article which cannot be posted.

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Barry L. Zubrow. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article or speedy-deleted it, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Mrzubrow 21:56, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for helping to recreate the deletion review.

User:65.184.18.197

Hi, merope. Just wanted to get a clarification from you as to the difference between content dispute and harrassment. User:65.184.18.197 not only has made harrassing comments to Hailey Anne Nelson's mother, the user Memphismom, but has removed content from her page. The other IP I gave, which begins 65.184 had a habit of making unwarranted removals re: Hailey Anne Nelson as well as harrassing comments. That user was warned against that by admin Jerzy. So, is this content dispute, wikistalking, wikiharrassment or what? If it's any of the above, what should be done? Thanks.

Ispy1981 00:32, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Merope. Thanks for getting back to me. Other than the diff I provided in my report, I don't see anything outright, except for the removal of the pic. However, if you look at the contributions for 65.184.20.38, you should see a whole lot of edits to the Hailey Anne Nelson page, even once trying to mark it for speedy deletion, as well as the one for Shelby Young.

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hailey_Anne_Nelson&diff=prev&oldid=105883995

Do I need any more proof? There are many edits made by this user, back to back, with uncivil comments left in the edit summary, on the Hailey Anne Nelson page. Yes, I am sure these two are the same person. Would be kind of coincidental for two people within the same general IP area to gravitate towards the same article in such a way, yes?

deletion of "Mine Water and the Environment"

Dear Merope,

you deleted the above mentioned article due to copyright violation (as you suggested) and asked for a proof of copyright from the copyright owner. Meanwhile I mailed you the proof that I have the copyright of the material used. Do you have an idea when the article will be back in Wikipedia or, otherwise, what could I do from my side to re-install that article?

Kind regards

Just to let you know that most cleanup templates, like "unreferenced", "fact", "cleanup" etc., are best not "subst"ed. See WP:SUBST for more details. Regards, Rich Farmbrough, 10:58 5 March 2007 (GMT).

Deletion

First of all, who the hell are you to tell me what I can and can't do? I don't have as much free time as you to get the whole page completed in one sitting. I think your erasing of my page becaus YOU don't think this person is important is ridiculous. I'm sure any man could say the same for a lot of the "important" people on this website. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ridgewoodian (talkcontribs)

Aw, this is kind of cute -- this was a page I tagged for speedy deletion before I became an admin. The editor is just now getting back to me, six months later. -- Merope 22:01, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion question

I noticed that you deleted the BrettspielWelt page and I wanted to comment on that. I posted it at the deletion review page per the instructions about deletion review.

I note that you deleted it for notability reasons, but I've read articles about this site in print publications (Games Magazine, principally, though I'm fairly certain that I've seen others). It's a prominent site in the board gaming community and is discussed quite often.

So, I'd like to have the opportunity to provide evidence of notability, but I didn't want to just recreate the page when it had just been deleted. I hope that I'm doing this correctly.

Thanks for your consideration, -Robert C. Chunky Rice 01:32, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for restoring the page. I'll be cleaning it up over the next week or so. Please feel free to tell me what additional work you think it needs. Chunky Rice 18:46, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to bother again

Hi, Merope. Seems I've gotten a message from a "new user" 69.132.198.252, who seems to know everything about my editing habits and has an interest in the Hailey Anne Nelson article, like the 65.184 address. A reverse DNS check shows that, like the 65.184 address, this one reverts back to a RoadRunner account in the Carolinas. This one, apparently IS from North Carolina, through a simple IP check, but the 65.184 one showed "San Francisco, Ca". Clearly, this is the same person/people. What should I do? If I take this to arbitration, in your professional opinion, would it be heard? I've let 69.132.198.252 know of the DNS results and that, if he tries to blank the page, I'll be contacting an admin with the diffs. Thanks.

Ispy1981 6 March 2007, 16:21 (UTC)

Hi

I hope you weren't irritated by my contribution at User talk:WassermannNYC. I do like trying to calm conflict down, even if it seems I did so in a hamfisted way on this occasion. <sigh>. The license issue is interesting. Other than deletion review, does he have any other option? I presume Jewdar is salted, so what if he wrote a properly sourced stub article in his user space and then asked an admin (you?) to review it? Personally, I think the term is probably a nn neologism, but he's clearly convinced it has notability and deletion review is somewhat offputting for a newbie. --Dweller 20:29, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you delete the page Fanstalk?

Erm, well, the title says it all, why have you deleted the article Fanstalk? This is my first article and I've done it about a forum that I post on, as members have requested a page on here. What was the point in deleting it when you could just as easily have left it, and not annoy me? I have checked and re-checked it, and read the guidlines, and there is nothing wrong with it, so I would appreciate it if you could reply and tell me why it's been deleted, thanks. Arbb 22:25, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You deleted on Sunday an article that I submitted under the heading, "Wertheim Schroder & Company." Since I have not contributed to Wikipedia before, I am not sure why the article was deleted. Wertheim Schroder & Co. was an investment bank, like others (e.g., Goldman Sachs, Lehman Bros.) for which there are Wikipedia articles. I worked at the firm for 26 years, and kept the only history of the firm. Since the firm was acquired in 2000, there will be, as far as I know, no other source for its history. Wertheim Schroder and its predecessor, Wertheim & Co., is linked to its founder, Maurice Wertheim, who is a very interesting character, not least for his extraordinary art collection that was gifted to Harvard, and his daughter, Barbara Tuchman, a Pulitzer Prize winning historian. There are many interesting historical facts in the article I submitted, which I edited down from the material I have. I submitted the article when I noticed that Wikipedia had no information about the firm after clicking on its name in the article about Tony Coelho. Stanleywmorten 01:02, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sock nonsense...

I was pleasantly surprised to receive a monination for adminship today (finally someone noticed all my great work!), until I realized it was a joke from CrazyBusLive-Online (talk · contribs), a painfully obvious sockpuppet of CrazyBusLive (talk · contribs), whom you blocked back in January. Please, if you will, block this sock. And feel free to delete Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Scientizzle—I won't be accepting a nomination from a block-evading troll.

Also, I'm pretty sure that CrazyBusLive/CrazyBusLive-Online are socks of Andyroost (talk · contribs) (note the common userboxes). CrazyBusLive was created the day after Andyroost was blocked (by you, again) and seemed to exist solely to vandalize my talk page and attempt to unblock Andyroost. (As did the subsequent version, CrazyBusLive1 (talk · contribs). Andyroost also vandalized my talk page back then...

Couple all that with the constant, bizarre vandalism back and forth between Andyroost and Ellez (talk · contribs) (who hasn't many useful edits, but plenty of vandalism), maybe it's worth a checkuser and, if confirmed, a warning/block for disruption for Andyroost?

Anyway, I thought I'd bring this to you, as you're most familiar with the situation, even if it was a couple of months ago... Thanks, Scientizzle 03:40, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for getting back to me. No hurry on anything, take a look and maybe you can sort out more than I did.
As for admin stuff--yeah, I'm interested. I feel my year and 7000+ edits have me pretty ready. I'd greatly appreciate any feedback.
Finally, thanks for noticing the new look at my space. I played with a few things that I liked at other user pages and mashed some of them together. I kinda like it myself. -- Scientizzle 04:11, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If there's any problem I have around here, it's assuming too much good faith. Your reasoning for the blocks is perfectly solid. Thanks for getting involved. -- Scientizzle 18:12, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I may as well admit that me and User:Ellez are sockpuppets of User:Andyroost.

Thanks

I don't even know who those IPs were, it seems as though they logged out of whatever accounts I was warning this morning. Thanks again. Leebo t|c 14:40, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for getting back at least

First of all, thanks for getting back to me, it is a site used by many members and they will come on here to see it and read it. I can understand why you see it as 'not notable' but an encyclopedia can have anything in it right? It's a free encyclopedia that anyone can add an article to, articles should only be deleted if they are offensive surely? I would really appreciate it if you could put it back, but if thats not possible then fine, I won't complain —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Arbb (talkcontribs) 18:04, 7 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Ben Fernandez article

I'm not the original author, but I'm in the process of rewriting the Ben Fernandez article to avoid copyright issues. While the original took most of its information from the RNHA page, it wasn't word for word, so I think it will pass copyvio muster now, plaus I'll make sure the article title is properly capitalized. I think English may not have been the original author's primary language. Let me know if there's a problem. Realkyhick 17:32, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All done now. Take a look and see if the rewrite is enough to avoid copyvio. I also put a redirect from Benjamin Fernandez. Realkyhick 18:08, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Merope, Could you please tell me how to...

Hi Merope, Could you please tell me how to

1. You added the about me section on your page. I tried to look at the source but I dont see how you did it.

For example, something real simple. How do I add to my own page I am Male as you have on your page that you are single [that little rectangle]

2. Can you point me to someplace that defines how to upload an image? I have been trying to follow Microsoft Office as an example and I am working on Dynamic Submission but it is slow going cause I am still a newbie and I dont understand how to do thing. At this rate it will take forever.

3. Where do you make suggestions for a change. For example I just learned about Catagories today. So I wanted to suggest that the scope of Web software be extended to include software that performs a function on the Internet (web) but does not actually have to be running on a web server. I suggest this to help with the massivc Software cat.

4. Next I have a real simple suggestion, I really think it would be great if when search in the search box that the case did not matter. It does.

Anyway, I do not want ask you to much :-) Thanks for the help in advance.

Best Regard,

Hi, you deferred the above copyright violation speedy deletion on the grounds of letting the AfD run it's course. But it's a blatant copyright violation, a wikified cut and paste from another website, admitted by the original author as an error made in his early editing days. It will still be a copyright violation if the AfD allows it to remain. --Steve (Slf67) talk 00:33, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I'd say that because it is an exact copy of somebody else's list then yes it's a copyvio. It's not as though it's an alphabetical list of names of people who exhibit a characteristic which would be hard to prove; but it is a copy of a list of people with the same descriptions of their work and organised in the same state groupings. It's a wikified cut-and-paste, and the original author admits that what he did. If it were a word-for-word paragraph cut from a website we'd delete it on sight (and I've spotted tens of those in my time!) What do you think? --Steve (Slf67) talk 01:43, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The (band) deletion

Thank you Merope for deleting this article. It was unneeded, gratuitous, and poorly written. I had stumbled into the poor misplaced article when searching for "The Band" (the group from the '60s), and tried to put it into the correct place, not being audacious enough to delete it entirely. Thank you for going the extra step--the article is unneeded here. Thank you, Jasper124c41 01:22, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ProductSifter

Hello.

I created a page titled ProductSifter which was identified as a candidate for speedy deletion. I contested the speedy deletion and was asked by an administrator (I'm not sure if that was you or someone else) if I could provide further third-party references to the subject material. Before I had the chance to respond, the page was deleted under a code that I believe indicates "blatant advertising". I strenuously object to that assertion as I believe the content has merit on a number of grounds and I'm not trying to advertise anything, merely provide information which I believe forms part of a wider issue. I object more strongly to the entry being deleted in mid-discussion - it seems hardly fair to ask a question and then act before you get a response. Speedy indeed. Is there any way to get the page resurrected at least until the discussion is duly completed?

Merope, thank you for reinstating my page on ProductSifter. I'm busy tracking down more third-party material in an effort to establish the website's notability. Your deletion also prompted me to take a good look through what I've written and I can see that some of the description I've used could be construed more as "promotional" than "informative", though that wasn't my intention. Anyway, I'll re-edit to get rid of the unnecessary stuff. Thanks again for giving me the chance to improve it - I'm new to this, but I guess I'll learn Bazerby 22:13, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Thanks for blocking the IP that has been persistently vandalising Tin Pot Operation. I don't hold much hope that it will deter them, however. Once the ban is lifted - this is their 3rd ban and the IP has made NO other edits to wikipedia rather than to be a mild nuisance to this article. I'll report any further vandalism.

Hey, just wanted to say a big thank you for your advice, I certainly agree with it. It was wrong of me to jump in with that only warning, especially after I'd just brought it up on WP:AN, I guess I just wanted to try and put an end to it before he got any more heated - but on reflection, it could have turned out to be a bad move. The reason why I blanked the page, and didn't jump in with Mfd, or speedy deletion is there were previous versions that the page could have been moved back to - but then I guess that could have been seen as vandalism by , hence the retaliation. Sorry if I gave you some work to do - I'll cetainly bare it in mind in the future, thanks again Ryanpostlethwaite contribs/talk 09:13, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From what I saw before this was deleted, it wasn't speedyable under a7, since it contained an assertion of notability (being a head coach of a sport for a major Division I school). As such, could you please restore it? -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 15:13, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Government pages by Stripslashes 15:15, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

I am very concerned with the lack of explanation and severe overuse of power. I was adding pages for The Government, a relevant band from Connecticut (see: http://thegov.net/, http://myspace.com/thegovmusic, and http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4638104075215193069), and its members. No one has provided me with information as to why this is inappropriate. Stripslashes 15:15, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Per Wikipedia's own guidelines on musician notability, "Failing to satisfy the notability guidelines is not a criterion for speedy deletion". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Stripslashes (talkcontribs) 15:21, 15 March 2007 (UTC).Stripslashes 15:21, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am more than happy to add more content, including additional sources and content, but I would need you to refrain from deleting the page minutes after its initial creation. Stripslashes 15:23, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User:Stripslashes

I blocked this user for repeatedly moving the page The Government and creating a new dab page to include his nonnotable band. In my opinion, he was warned enough times, and the page moves are a real pain in the butt to undo. NawlinWiki 15:33, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocking

By blocking the ip 72.10.124.230 you are blocking Westbrook Public Schools from any edits on Wikipedia. Additionally, I have not move pages since I recieved my final warning. I am an educator myself, and I am the IT Manager at Westbrook High School (see: [[5]], Rob Frawley).

Also, by blocking my IP you remove the right for my to disscuss this matter with mods and admins.

I request you remove such restrictions on my username stripslashes and the Westbrook Public School ip of 72.10.124.230. Ss2 15:52, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(I am StripSlashes)

It is indeed unfortunate that your actions have led to editing access to such a valuable educational resource being temporarily cut off from the students at your school. However, no one has a basic right to edit Wikipedia. We are granted permission to edit only after agreeing to abide by Wikipedia's community-developed policies; this is something you have consistently failed to do. —Psychonaut 16:04, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Citing the three "An editor must not perform more than three reverts, in whole or in part, on a single page within a 24-hour period. A revert means undoing the actions of another editor, whether involving the same or different material each time." I assume this applies to all Wikipedia members (including mods).

Additionally... The blocking policy states that "Blocks are used to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia and should not be used as a punitive measure."

Since I stopped moving pages after my final warning, it would seem that there was no reason to block me in the first place.

Additionally... The blocking policy states that "Blocking to gain an advantage in a content dispute is strictly prohibited. Sysops must not block editors with whom they are currently engaged in a content dispute."

Again, if the pages could simply be left (i did use the {hangon} tags and it was still deleted) so users can comment on their validity it would be very much appreciated.

Lastely... When I first began adding pages for The Government, I was told Wikipedia REQUIRED pages be moves, and then later on there was a complain about it (see my discussion page).

I need some clarification on why so many people involved with Wikipedia could have such little understanding about the rules and regulation, ultimately providing me with conflicting information.

Even if the band is not well known by you, it does not mean that it is unknown in Connecticut.

I would appreciate a useful discuss of the validity and usefulness of the information provided on the page.Ss2 16:20, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

StripSlashes

The username and ip associated with StripSlashes has also been blocked indefinetly. The blocking rules state that, when blocking, calateral damage must be avoided. Instead of considering this, the whole school system of Westbrook, Connecticut has been blocked.

Additionally, the points above clearly show that the user acted wrongly.

Wikipedia should be a fair and balanced view on current and path history. I understand that some might disagree with the page, but it did not qualify for speedy deletion. Additionally, it was still being edited and improved.

Entering into a discussion about the page is one thing, but flat out deleting it is another.

I would like to add that I will be filing a complain over the topic and user NawlinWiki (that is, once I figure out the right procedue to do so).

I would appreciate my username and the Westbrook Public Schools ip unblocked so I do not have to use the webserver ip and the alias ss2 to communicate about this matter.

(Additionally, the user ss2 can be remove once the block on stripslashes is remove).

Thanks.

As I posted to the talk page of User:Ss2, I will unblock the Stripslashes account if Ss2 promises to stop moving pages and not to repost The Government (CT) article. I've had no response. NawlinWiki 16:45, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

StripSlashes:Blocked

According the StripSlashes discussion page, I was blocked for vandalism. The Wikipedia definition of vandalism clearly states that "any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ss2 (talkcontribs) 16:45, 15 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

My offer to unblock, as above, stands. Or are you (Ss2, not Merope) saying that if unblocked, you will continue to move pages and repost the Government (CT) article? NawlinWiki 16:50, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A Question

Dear Sir or Madame:

Why did you delete my previous comments? They were entirely within wikipedia guidelines were they not? Is it possible that you do not wish others to see that you misused your position as an administrator to improperly place a "protect" on a talk page in order to punish an editor who was already blocked? Please respond. 14thArmored 03:54, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another Question

A cursory examination of your recent contributions reveals a complete dirth of contributions of actual content to wikipedia articles. Is there a special classification for editors who only "fix" links and address other, minor technical items? I am very interested in this, as it would give me an opportunity to engage in a tremendous amount of activity here without actually having to work hard at adding content. Thank you for your time and consideration of my question. 14thArmored 04:01, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He seems to think that correct spelling is very important, so I'd like to point out that he's misspelled "dearth" here. Love, another useless editor. -FisherQueen (Talk) 20:17, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

14thArmoured

I know its hard to see it but he is a decent guy. He wears his heart on his sleeve a bit too much and God knows he needs to tone down the language but he can be a really good editor and the T-34 page was better for his efforts. I was having problems getting folks to see it was a bit much POV wise Tirronan 15:49, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have no doubt that he is an intelligent and useful contributer. He just needs to tone down the insults and the disruption. -- Merope 15:50, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attack?

Calling someone a "wik-idiot" is a personal attack, correct? 14thArmored called me one, because I kept warning him before he got blocked the first time (maybe not first, but it's the only time that I know of) and now off the block, he's calling me a "wik-idiot". Should I delete that comment from my talk page and report him/give him a warning for it? He seems to have called you something too since you talk about it on his talk page. Bsroiaadn 17:51, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Those Who Cannot and Those Who Can

Merope: Regarding your defense of your failure to add content to articles. There are those who add content and actively edit, and there are those who cannot. Those who cannot, it seems, are administrators like you. 14thArmored 18:24, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for referring me to the Civility and "Don't Be a Dick" wiki pages. I read them with great interest. I found no mention of incivility in the context of expressing one's dissatifaction with the activites of an administrator. For example, you failed to say anything to the editor who repeatedly posted warnings on my talk page which were in violation of the wikipedia rules of vandalism. Why did you not inform this editor of his rather error? I have no doubt that he would have ceased immediately since he has proven himself to be an honorable editor. Similarly, I found nothing relevant in the text of the "Don't Be a Dick" wiki page. It is hardly disruptive to point out the glaring errors in judgment exercised by an administrator.
Finally, I said that it is easier to make technical edits than it is to add worthwhile content to articles, much easier in point of fact. It's like the old saying. Those who can, do. Those who can't teach, i.e, Make technical edits and administrate. So, as you can see, my point was somewhat different than you claim. 14thArmored 22:22, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Christmas Eve Records

Hi, you recently deleted a page I created about a DIY record label from the UK because you stated it was not notable. I disagree, because it has been mentioned in at least two other published sources in the form of record reviews. Please can you explain in a little more detail why you feel it is not notable. Thanks, Jane.

Thanks for your reply. I was working on the article and thought I could submit it, consider what I had written and edit it. I didn't realise it had to be complete before submission. Is there anyway I can recreate my article, but not publish it, so that I can work on it over the next few days and hopefully meet your standards re. notbility? Best wishes, Jane.

Please take your concerns to the discussion page on the Manual Style before reverting my edits. At the very least, an administrator should follow the rules, don't you think? Sorry

Yea im sorry that we didn't make it up just one day. FYI it's a game that's been around a while, we just felt it needed reported on here at wikipedia because cool people may want to learn about a great game, I mean it's a game just like football / soccer / baseball, these pages don't get deleted, but hey when people make a page about a game thats not as widely known as these, watchout wikipedia will break you down and crush your soul.

Hello,

Please have some patience with me, I am new to Wikipedia.

I contest the deletion of a page called and about Tacoland. Tacoland as a music club was as influential in South Texas as CBGB's was in New York City. In terms of Texas musical history, Tacoland was the San Antonio nexus for alternative, indie, and avant garde music for over 30 years. It has been written about in the press, in lore, in song.

I began the Tacoland page because 3 different individuals mentioned to me that they were surprised that there was no mention of Tacoland or Ram Ayala on Wikipedia. I am seeking to rectify this problem. Any music lover that seeks to learn about South Texas rock over the last 3 decades should know about Tacoland.

Thank you for your time,

Squirrel taggers...

I guess that's what I'll call this group. It's worth blocking 'em all now, I think. I just got a message from Redneck17 (talk · contribs), who is (naturally) no relation to Redneck16 (talk · contribs). Redneck 16's contribs are all vandalism, but escaped warning until the stupid squirrel tag article. This edit is easily the final straw in violating NPA.

Anyways...Kumarpatel (talk · contribs), Glfootball92 (talk · contribs) & blocked Con-61 (talk · contribs) are all obviously sock/meatpuppets with the rednecks 16 & 17. Bobbybilly90 (talk · contribs) probably is, too, but is at least a vandalim-oriented new user.

I brought this to you, since you issued the final WP:NOT/etc. warnings to these jokers.

It's probably okay to delete Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Redneck17 & Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Kumarpatel. Feel free to include a nice 'eye roll' in the deletion logs... -- Scientizzle 21:23, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Nethope article

Hi,

You deleted the article I was creating on Nethope before it was even finished properly. Saying it was done under the "speedy deletion" stuff is all good and well. It is a bit of a ninja delete though, I was still working on it and trying out some stuff. :)

However to respond to article 11 or whatever it was. Advertising a company, product or whatever. I can understand that but the thing is, Nethope is a consortium of ngo's (Non Governmental Organization). So there is no profit goal or whatever for them. The only thing they want to achieve is to get several, if not all ngo's, get together and start collaborating in order to improve the efficiency of the ngo's on their projects in developing countries.

I thought an article of them on wikipedia would help them get more known and inform the general population of what it is exactly that they are doing.

So my question now is: - Can I still write an article about Nethope? - If it was just the way of how I was writing it that is not according to "rules"; can you tell me what I need to change?

This is my first article on wikipedia...

Speedy deletion of Revolution Void

Hello Merope,

I have thoroughly read through the articles you recommended and I believe that Revolution Void meets the criteria of a notable band. The article may not be the best-written but it's a start. Feedback on the writing-style and content of the article is much appreciated, and I am more than willing to re-write as necessary.

In the interest of disclosure I should mention that I am behind the project Revolution Void, and I know that it is bad form to submit an article about yourself. But in all fairness, someone else had already written a whole Wiki article on me at Last.FM and I certainly think Revolution Void fits the "notability" requirements.

Here are a few of the reasons I feel this way:

  • Revolution Void was featured in the Italian music magazine RGB, which included a CD featuring R.V. tracks and was distributed to 50,000 people.
  • R.V. featured in French magazine "Socialiste Africaine" which also included a DVD. Distribution: 25,000
  • Google search for "revolution void" yields 56,600 results
  • Technorati search for "revolution void" yields 238 results, each one of these a feature/review
  • revolutionvoid.com is PageRank 6 (from all the external links) so there is a wealth of info from reputable sites out there to cite sources
  • R.V. has been in regular rotation on 50+ radio stations including notable mainstream stations such as KNDD (Seattle) and KROQ (LA).
  • Collaborated with Oscar-award-winning composers on major projects. Music featured in 15+ films.
  • Have collaborated with top-notch jazz musicians such as Avishai Cohen, Steven Bernstein, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Lucas Pickford, Matt Garrison and Seamus Blake.

So, it may be narcissistic to submit an article about myself. But at the same time, I am making a very niche form of music and I think that people will go to Wikipedia to look for who some of the notable musicians in this genre are, of which I feel that I am one. So if at all possible, I would appreciate allowing this article to be made.

Thanks!
