Siege of Uruk from Aga of Kish[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Aga of Kish ‎ into Siege of Uruk. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — पाटलिपुत्र Pat (talk) 18:46, 17 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stele of Ushumgal[edit]

This image which you uploaded does not seem to be your "Own work" as claimed, but rather a crop from the image of the Metropolitan Museum of Art . If so, you have to give proper attribution as in here: . Please correct accordingly, otherwise it might be considered as a copyright violation. Thank you. पाटलिपुत्र Pat (talk) 15:35, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Response[edit]

@पाटलिपुत्र: You are right, it's a crop from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, I confused it with other image of my creation, my bad, I changed it. If I didn't properly please message me again.

-Mesopotamia4me.

I made corrections. Please check, so that you can use the same format next time. Cheers पाटलिपुत्र Pat (talk) 16:15, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@पाटलिपुत्र: Thanks! And thanks a lot for your help and edits in Mesopotamian pages. :)

-Mesopotamia4me.

The license also has to be CCO as the original, since you cannot copyright for yourself a simple crop. Cheers पाटलिपुत्र Pat (talk) 16:18, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

King Aga gem[edit]

Would you have a reference for you nice image of a gem with the name of Aga ? पाटलिपुत्र Pat (talk) 16:41, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@पाटलिपुत्र: Added. Page 66 btw.

-Mesopotamia4me.

Thank you! You're a good drawer... पाटलिपुत्र Pat (talk) 16:50, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@पाटलिपुत्र: In fact, it was my girlfriend hehe. Today I convinced her to create a wikimedia account where she uploaded this same day. I would like to remove the gem drawing so she can do it.

-Mesopotamia4me.

Very good. She can re-upload the gem drawing under a different filename and a different size (like 110%...) if she wants, no problem, and you can add a {{speedydelete|Add a reason here}} tag to the first one, it will vanish within 24 hours or so. पाटलिपुत्र Pat (talk) 17:18, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Gilgamesh and Aga Image[edit]

Hi Mesopotamia4me. This image File:Gilgamesh and Aga.jpg is copyrighted and cannot be used on Wikipedia (images have to be allowed for commercial use). Please add a {{speedy delete|your explanation here}} tag so that it can be removed. पाटलिपुत्र Pat (talk) 04:45, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I did the same as this image File:Img from fara.jpg] from the CDLI, why can he use it but I can't? @पाटलिपुत्र:

Same thing, I have requested a speedy deletion (obvious as Commercial Use has to be OK to be on Wikipedia). पाटलिपुत्र Pat (talk) 16:19, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@पाटलिपुत्र: okay I will delete it. Btw, is there any place where I can get museum mesopotamian images for wikipedia? There's no images of the poem of Gilgamesh and Aga and it's sad.

There are only few solutions. You can find a pre-1923 source, the author of which has been dead for more than 70 years (=Public Domain). You can also negotiate with someone on Flickr who has the image to change their license to "Attribution Share-alike". But you might be lucky: one of our contributors User:Neuroforever (Osama Shukir Muhammed Amin) has photographed such a tablet: [1]. You just need to ask him nicely if he could upload the image on Commons. He is a great guy, and has accepted to do this many times in the past. पाटलिपुत्र Pat (talk) 19:34, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@पाटलिपुत्र: Oh you beat me on the Aga images hehe. Btw you were right, he is awesome and very kind, few people in Internet like that sadly. -Mesopotamia4me
