A tag has been placed on Jeff Russell (author), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you feel that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 72.75.73.158 05:15, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, dear Metaphysical. I've read your message to me regarding this deletion. According to you, this person may be within the notability guidelines we require, but unfortunately, this wasn't evident at the text you wrote. A good way to get more familiar with the matter is reading some of the following pages: WP:Notability and Verifiability. I encourage you to rewrite the article following these lines and then resubmit it; I can gladly review it for you in order to doublecheck its suitability. A good way to make sure the article complies with our rules is to provide references; like links to external reliable third party sources proving this author's notability, and the existence of this book (an ISBN code will also be welcome). Let me know if I can assit you any further, k? Have a beautiful day, Phaedriel - 06:42, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Philosophical rock[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Philosophical rock, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. --Bsnowball (talk) 14:48, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Adelaide University Athletics Club requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. AfD nomination of Adelaide University Athletics Club[edit]

I have nominated Adelaide University Athletics Club, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adelaide University Athletics Club. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Nuttah (talk) 06:33, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Adelaide University Athletics Club[edit]

I have no doubt that the club does exist, that is not the issue. However, there was no evidence of how the club met Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) in the article. The articles suitability for inclusion was discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adelaide University Athletics Club. If you feel that the decision was wrong you can appeal.
