I reverted your addition to Acton-Boxboro because it contained an unsourced promotional statement. The encyclopedia article on the school is not for you to express your opinion. Encyclopedia articles are made up entirely of material paraphrased from reliable sources. You source said nothing about any tradition if excellence, nor does any other reliable source. If a change you make is reverted and a reason is given in the edit summary (POV was the reason), it is NEVER proper to just put it back. Instead, you go to the article's talk page and try to form a consensus for the version you want. See WP:BRD. I have no objection to the reporting of the test scores. I do object to your blatant promotion of the school, and I also object to the comparative information, as the guidelines for school articles discourage making comparisons. Feel free to replace the test results. Anything else will need consensus. John from Idegon (talk) 16:52, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. John from Idegon (talk) 16:53, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Can we cite the fact that it was listed as number 3 by the Boston Business Journal. This is similar to the listing of the IMHO dubious US News and World Report ranking given earlier. -- So what I would like to add is the following

In February 2018, the Massachusetts Department of Education published its 2016-2017 SAT scores. ABRHS had the following mean results: Reading 642, Math 665, Total 1307. This placed ABRHS 3rd in the state on SAT scores. [19]

I will then add citation 19, which will read: Halpern, Joe (2018-2-15). "Here are the Mass. high schools with the highest SAT scores". boston business journal. Boston. Retrieved 2018-7-15. {{cite news}}: Check date values in: |access-date= and |date= (help)

These changes will only state the facts. Thank you for the tutelage on this.

July 2018[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. John from Idegon (talk) 11:26, 17 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Acton Boxboro[edit]

You need to answer a couple questions. First, who is this "we" you keep speaking of? Second, what is your relationship with the subject of the article in question? Your use of a plural pronoun and repeated arguments to the point that the information you are trying to add is important to portray the school in a positive light are indicative of an editor with a connection to the subject of the article. You are required to directly answer these questions prior to any further edits on the subject of this school anywhere on Wikipedia by the Wikimedia Foundation's legally binding terms of use. John from Idegon (talk) 02:27, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You still have not responded or taken action to the inquiry regarding your appearance as an undisclosed paid editor. If you make any additional edits without complying you may be blocked from editing. John from Idegon (talk) 15:35, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

We responded on the talk page to the acton boxboro page. I assumed you would look there for your answers. You like to cite violations of the wikipedia code of conduct, I believe many folks would think your actions towards me are WikiBulling. That being said I'll put my answers again here.

We were asked the following questions "You need to answer a couple questions. First, who is this "we" you keep speaking of? Second, what is your relationship with the subject of the article in question? Your use of a plural pronoun and repeated arguments to the point that the information you are trying to add is important to portray the school in a positive light are indicative of an editor with a connection to the subject of the article"

We is my husband and I. We have a mixture of skills, computer science and writing so we collaborate on many things together. (I have a bachelor's degree from Cornell Univ., he has a Masters in CS.) We like to learn new technologies and thought that Wikipedia would be a fun way to contribute. (We are quickly being discouraged though. May we ask you what your vested interest is in holding back facts about Acton's test scores. Do you not like standardized testing? It seems like you have a particular hostility to this topic. Do you distrust it or not see its value?) We do not work for the school system, or have a vested interest in the schools. Our connection to the town is we have lived in MA since the late 90's and have lived in Acton, MA in the past. Currently we do not reside in that town.

When we looked at the Wikipedia page we noticed that the schools testing data was stale, so we were curious about the current results. When we looked at the current data, it was clear that recent results were note worthy. We, therefore, decided to update the facts. That is all -- we are updating facts that we feel should be out there. We are using public data as our source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mhiggins234 (talk • contribs) 14:38, 24 July 2018 (UTC)

Single-article editors[edit]

Editors who create an account and edit only one article are suspected - sometimes without merit - of having a vested interest in the topic of the article. Consider branching out to other topics. Perhaps Concord-Carlisle High School, Littleton High School (Massachusetts), Maynard High School or Westford Academy. David notMD (talk) 13:47, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
