Hello Michanzv. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. SharkNinja is headquartered in the US, but is a global company which trades on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Saying it's an American company indicates SharkNinja does not operate outside of the US. User:Michanzv I am also trying to update information that is incorrect. The company was founded in 1994, not 1993 and is Public, not Private.User:Michanzv

I've checked the date against the company's history and agree with you on that. If the company is headquartered in the US, it is American, even if it might be better to call it a multinational company because it operates and raises capital in other countries. —C.Fred (talk) 02:07, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Michanzv: As the other editor said, thank you for disclosing your paid editor status. I'd like to clear up a few possible misconceptions; one, describing a company with a demonym doesn't indicate that it only operates within that country here. For example, see Toyota, which is listed as a Japanese company despite selling cars in many countries outside of Japan. Two, the policy for adding information is based on verifiability and not necessarily truth per WP:VERIFY- if you have unpublished information that you only have access to because you're associated with the company, it may not be suitable for backing up an edit here. Generally, the policy is to care more about what external, reliable sources say about an article's subject than what the subject has to say about themselves. On a different note, you can sign talk page posts with four tildes ~ and ping others using the 'reply to' template at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Reply_to.
