A tag has been placed on Draft:Michelle Rios requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.mmrios.com/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I edited and rewrote the nomination to avoid deletion.
Thank you,

Why was the draft deleted and why was creating it half a bad idea?[edit]

My name is User:BusterD and I have been around Wikipedia a while. If you were in the original Broadway cast for The Capeman, I likely saw you perform three times. I'm not from Puerto Rico, but those three nights... I felt required to share those experiences with my own theater teachers.

Ahem. Enough fanboying...

The simple reason your draft was quickly deleted was that it was a copy of material outside creative commons license, and you do not want to give up text from your actual website to enter the public domain, because then anyone can use it.

How do you create an article about yourself? You don't, normally. WP:Autobiography is a bad thing on Wikipedia because 1) subjects don't often write encyclopedically about themselves and 2) they still want control of their page once it's up. Do you really want New York City real-estate people to create their own Wikipedia page? No, you don't. Nobody would visit Wikipedia if it were just the Yellow Pages.

The sorts of people who get and keep Wikipedia pages about themselves are people about whom independent reliable secondary sources have published significant material directly detailing the subject, what we shorthand as "notable" (which is not as subjective as one may think). Based on your CV, I suspect you may actually fall into that range of notability but you have made the first classic blunder: trying to do it yourself. Let's not go towards the second classic blunder: hiring somebody to do it for you.

Are you interested in making the third classic blunder? Asking a wikipedian in good standing? Maybe I can help. I have weakness for helping connected editors who probably know much more about their industry than they'd be able to share on their own Wikipedia page. I'm beginning to believe that by working with connected editors, we may be able to utilize some of these connected sources to help us better understand entire fields of activity. As subjects of encyclopedia articles theater actors are often up against it, compared to those artists who record their work. That said, if you're interested, reply here. I can show you what actually works. BusterD (talk) 00:41, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your response. I would appreciate your help. ~M. Michelle Marie Rios (Michelle Rios) (talk) 00:58, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. I'm away from keyboard until tomorrow. Please read some of the links in the welcome message I've sent you. And don't be embarrassed. It gets lots weirder than that. Here is an article about another NYC actor Robert Petkoff begun by his sister in law whom I helped 13 years ago (jeez, 13 years ago...). Take note of the things about it you don't like. Your part of this for now is to read. Then we'll be looking for reliable sources. The subject or their publicist usually knows the pick of that litter better than anyone. We're looking for a profile, an interview, a news or journal story directly detailing your career or your life. The standard is more than one (I start with a minimum of three). So I'm not finding as much as I'd like, but I haven't gotten past the basic search yet. Your name brings up several false search positives, one in New Mexico and one in Miami. I'm sure as we look at individual projects we'll gather more moss. It helps to have a local connection; there's a really nice full-length article in an Edmondton paper and several other nice Canadian sources (which gives us sources about you from diverse locations, a strong indicator). I've got your IBDB listings but Lortel doesn't list you by name. My first look seems to indicate the mini-bio at the top of this page is more than a bit puffy. I think the Broadway work and the film and TV work to date gets you past WP:NACTOR. Perhaps you can help me find coverage. BusterD (talk) 03:54, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

We agreed there would be some cooperation from the subject[edit]

Since she had previously tried to insert material, I had offered to assist and had given ideas, but have not heard back from subject after they were invited. I don't normally make offers to help connected editors but in this case I saw potential upsides. BusterD (talk) 16:51, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
