Burlington's Landlocked Forest

It is probably not worth you making a copyright release, because it will need some rewriting anyway.

To make an acceptable article, you will need to establish notability, which is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Youtube, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and press releases. The test is, have people unconnected with the subject thought it important and significant enough to write about? Even good causes are not exempt from the requirement to show notability - see Wikipedia is not here to tell the world about your noble cause.

Beware of a promotional tone in extolling the beauties of the forest: Wikipedia requires a neutral point of view, and you are not trying to sell or promote anything. Don't write in the second person, as in "our goal is to provide Burlington residents with easy access". This is to be an encyclopedia article about the forest, not the manifesto of the Friends group; and certainly not a campaign manifesto, which the "Threat" paragraph seems to be. See Wikipedia is not a soapbox or means of promotion: "Content hosted in Wikipedia is not for: Advocacy, propaganda, or recruitment of any kind: commercial, political, religious, sports-related, or otherwise." Also, that paragraph seems to be out-of-date, talking about things that "will happen in September 2008 or January 2009."

There is good general advice in WP:Your first article.

Thank you for the pointers to get me started, I appreciate it. I do have some wikipedia experience, improving and wikifying many pages (6-700 edits on 200-250 articles, example of my efforts @ Deutsche Eishockey Liga) and will most certainly use the guidances above. I am not part of the Friends group (full disclosure: I have contributed to the group), and will include significant coverage to establish notability and substantiate/confirm claims. My most recently created article Futures Collegiate Baseball League is a great example for this, and correcting a self-promoting edit 2 days ago(!) I even say in comments "(Restored relevant historical information and removed self-promoting wording. This is an online fact-based encyclopedia, not a promotional tool.)" [1].
That said, I was hoping to have the original article as a starting point. If you can reconsider, that would be great. Otherwise, I will start from scratch. Thanks, Miden (talk) 05:23, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
I can't put it back in Wikipedia, even in a user page, because of copyright; but if you enable email (at the bottom of the "User profile" tab under "My preferences") I will email you the text. Sorry if I seemed to be trying to teach you to suck eggs! JohnCD (talk) 22:51, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
No worries; I have enabled my e-mail and I appreciate your help on this! Thanks, Miden (talk) 14:58, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Done - text emailed. JohnCD (talk) 16:00, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Got it -- THANKS! Miden (talk) 04:01, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

bih hokej

Could you do some updates on the bih hockey league?! And also, this link, [2] is outdated - some guy uploaded this, [3], - it would be a shame to lose those old images.
