UMass football[edit]

Mikerp126, I've noticed all the work you've been doing on UMass football. Good stuff. Take a look at the edits I've made on 2003 UMass Minutemen football team, especially if you plan to create more season articles. A few items to note specifically:

Before 2006, NCAA Division I FBS and FCS were known as Division I-A and I-AA.
All scores and records should be punctuated with an en dash, not a hyphen; see Dash and Wikipedia:Manual of Style#Dashes for more on that.
You almost never want to link to a calendar year, probably never in a college football article; see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (linking)#Year linking for more on that.
In the schedule tables, it's best to use Template:Cfb link to link to teams that don't have an article for that season. This template will link to the program's main article (or athletic program or school article, if there is no article for the football program) for the time being. If and when an article is created for the that team's specific season in question, the template will then link there and later a bot will go and hardcode the link.
If you create more new college football articles, it would be a great help if you could tag the discussion page with {{WikiProject College football|class=}}.

Something to make your life easier![edit]

Hi there Mikerp126! I've just come across one of your articles, and noticed that you had to create titles for your url links manually, or were using bare urls as references.

You might want to consider using this tool - it makes your life a whole heap easier, by filling in complete citation templates for your links. All you do is install the script on Special:MyPage/common.js, or or Special:MyPage/vector.js, then paste the bare url (without [...] brackets) between your <ref></ref> tabs, and you'll find a clickable link called Reflinks in your toolbox section of the page (probably in the left hand column). Then click that tool. It does all the rest of the work (provided that you remember to save the page! It doesn't work for everything (particularly often not for pdf documents), but for pretty much anything ending in "htm" or "html" (and with a title) it will do really, really well. Happy editing! Normally, I'd be fine with a redirect, but it would be a break from precedent with respect to WWII teams on hiatus. There were about 150 teams that suspended play and did not field teams during all or part of WWII. See here.
