Welcome!

Hello, Mikerp1986, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as University of Haifa Model United Nations Society, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  Chzz  ►  01:17, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article University of Haifa Model United Nations Society has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not (yet) notable. No evidence of significant coverage; a newly-formed society; see also WP:CRYSTAL WP:ORG

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.  Chzz  ►  01:17, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/University of Haifa Model United Nations Society for the deletion discussion. →Στc. 01:32, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Talk pages[edit]

When you leave messages on talk pages (such as the deletion discussion, or here), please add new comments at the end of the page, not the beginning.

Also, please remember to "sign" your name, by putting ~~~~ (four tilde signs) at the end. This will add your name, and the date and time. You can also do this by clicking the 'sign' button, pictured to the right.

Comment[edit]

Hi, User:Chzz asked me for my opinion of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/University of Haifa Model United Nations Society, and for a couple of reasons, I would like to remind you again that the use of multiple accounts to distort consensus is not allowed on Wikipedia, and there are technical tools to determine whether or not that is happening. Please also note that gathering or "recruiting" individuals you know in real life to support your position, known as meatpuppetry, is viewed in the same light and is also not permitted. Remember, one editor, one account. Thanks! WilliamH (talk) 19:57, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How references work[edit]

Simple references[edit]

These require two parts;

a)
Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>

He likes tea. <ref> [http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com Tea website] </ref>
b) A section called "References" with the special code "{{reflist}}";
== References ==
{{reflist}}

(an existing article is likely to already have one of these sections)

To see the result of that, please look at user:chzz/demo/simpleref. Edit it, and check the code; perhaps make a test page of your own, such as user:Mikerp1986/reftest and try it out.

Named references[edit]

Chzz was born in 1837. <ref name=MyBook>
"The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009.
</ref>

Chzz lives in Footown.<ref name=MyBook/>

Note that the second usage has a / (and no closing ref tag). This needs a reference section as above; please see user:chzz/demo/namedref to see the result.

Citation templates[edit]

You can put anything you like between <ref> and </ref>, but using citation templates makes for a neat, consistent look;

Chzz has 37 Olympic medals. <ref> {{Citation
 | last = Smith
 | first = John
 | title = Olympic medal winners of the 20th century
 | publication-date = 2001
 | publisher = [[Cambridge University Press]]
 | page = 125
 | isbn = 0-521-37169-4
}}
</ref>

Please see user:chzz/demo/citeref to see the result.

For more help and tips on that subject, see user:chzz/help/refs.  Chzz  ►  17:22, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
