Hello snail fancier![edit]

Hey, Mikeydanger. Welcome, and thanks for the work you did yesterday on two gastropod articles. We do have quite a fair number of articles on land snails; is that an area of special interest for you? I took a look at the article you started, Punctum minutissimum, and as you will see, I already cleaned it up a bit, updating the taxobox and expanding the intro sentence. But I am concerned about the text. I see you used Burch's book. I also see that you changed some of the content from there just a little bit, switching the order of phrases somewhat but keeping the semicolons and sentence fragments and some of the phrasing.

You may not know this, but for Wikipedia you need to rewrite content in your own words, you know, from scratch, so it cannot be construed as a copyright violation. (We take the possibility of copyvio very seriously here.) I would very much like to invite you to join WikiProject Gastropods if you might be interested (see the links on the talk page of that article), but let's see if we can get the article sorted out a bit more first. By the way, if you do some more work on the article, being that this is an encyclopedia we try always to use full sentences. Welcome again and many thanks, Invertzoo (talk) 20:12, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your user page[edit]

Hope you don't mind, I changed the title of your user page so that now it just has your user name. Your user page is for info about you. We can make you one or more subpages that you can use for drafting an article. Invertzoo (talk) 20:28, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Carnegie museum[edit]

Hi again, I wanted to say that I know Tim Pearce a little bit from the Mid Atlantic Malacology meetings I have been to at the Delaware Museum (DMNH) each year in March for the last 3 years. I also know Aydin Örstan quite well, so if you see him please say hello to him for me. My real name is Susan J. Hewitt. Do you read Aydin's blog "Snail's Tales" [2], it is quite excellent. Best, Invertzoo (talk) 16:11, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Me too[edit]

Yes, please, if you have any questions large or small about how to do all the various little bits and pieces on Wikipedia, please go head and ask me. It can be hard when you are beginning to make sense of it all, and sometimes the help pages (if you can even find them!) are more or less incomprehensible. Ha! best, Invertzoo (talk) 16:04, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to help assess Wikipedia:WikiProject Gastropods[edit]

Hi. I am inviting members of some WikiProjects to take part in evaluating their projects in order to help the Wikimedia Foundation better understand such projects from the inside, to encourage reflection on best practices, and to compile a list of best practices as recommended by a number of projects. I am contacting you because you are listed as an active member of Wikipedia:WikiProject Gastropods. Having witnessed that project's work in the past in my volunteer capacity, I'd very much like to include it. I hope that you will have time and interest in participating. As much or as little as you would like to supply would be gratefully received. The assessment questions are posted at Wikipedia:WikiProject Gastropods/Self-assessment. I will myself steer clear of the page until after any discussion seems to have become dormant, at which point I will ask questions to make sure that I am developing a good overview of opinions. Thanks. --Maggie Dennis (WMF) (talk) 13:05, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
