Anti-vandalism[edit]

Hey there, thank you for your tireless efforts in fighting vandalism! However, it would be much appreciated if you left an edit summary behind. This makes it easier for other users to understand the reasons for reversion. As patrolling recent changes leaves little time to write elaborate summaries, you might want to look at WP:ESL for common abbreviations for edit summaries. Best, Caius G. (talk) 16:21, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Caius G.:, thanks for the advice. I will take a time to read the content you sent me, as other politics on this wiki to improve further editions. Best, MikutoH (talk) 16:25, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects to articles where the redirect term in not mentioned[edit]

Please ensure that the page you redirect to actually mentions the redirect term. This is particularly important for terms that may be controversial or construed as derogatory. In those cases ensure that the target is reliably sourced, and that the redirect is targeted as precisely as possible. Consider adding an anchor to redirect to. Failure to do this may result in the redirect being deleted, and if there are complaints, further action may be taken. If you cannot find sources, do not create the redirect. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 08:06, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. If you're talking about bisexual lesbianism, I created it because both terms are mentioned in the article, although separately. MikutoH (talk) 23:36, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for July 16[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited LGBT slang, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dyke. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:02, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Categories[edit]

Hello, MikutoH,

If you are considering creating categories that include gender, sexual orientation or sexual identity, please read, carefully, Wikipedia:Categorizing articles about people#EGRS. To categorize an individual based on sexual orientation or sexual identity, it must be verified in their article content. Please be careful, more caution is taken with these categories than those based on occupation or nationality. If you have questions, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 04:46, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, you are not creating appropriate category redirects. They are not created like an article redirect. Please use {{category redirect|Category:Target category}}. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 04:49, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
They have created a discussion at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2024_March_17#Category:LGBT_people_by_identity for renaming the root category into "variation".
I think most people would strongly consider this term a form of othering that people would not be okay with for self-identification as a root category. A persons sexual/romantic orientations and gender identities are not some kind of variation, they are their orientations and identities. Raladic (talk) 05:17, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Liz: if you're referring to the non-binary gay men category, as I said in WT:LGBT, I used WP:PetScan so all biographies I categorized were already in the parent categories (Category:Gay men and Category:People with non-binary gender identities). I made redirects because I can't rename categories in enwiki, bots already automatically replace the redirect with the template you cited, and I was the category creator, so I guess WP:CUT doesn't apply to this case since it's a category and it's a common practice in my native project (ptwiki). But I will put the template next time instead of redirecting.
@Raladic: you already talked about that in the RfD. I agree that's not the best option. I started the renaming discussion because people expressed they were uncomfortable with the existing category before in other RfD, as I pointed in the rationale. The reason I chose variation was merely because the original category in the simplewiki, as I also pointed in the rationale. And as I also said, the consensus could result in reparenting the intervening/interleaving subcategories (aka merging) instead of renaming. If someone comes with a better name, I would support. And I'm neutral in the current name. --MikutoH talk! 20:40, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, MikutoH,

Please do not tag full categories for speedy deletion. They can't be deleted if they aren't empty. Please nominate it for a speedy rename at WP:CFD, this can not be handled through CSD, there are editors who focus on handling categories that are decided in CFD discussions. Liz Read! Talk! 02:48, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Liz: why is there an option on twinkle for moving through speedy deletion then? I thought it would lead automatically to the speedy rename process. --MikutoH talk! 03:18, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
