SunClass Airlines/TCA Scandinavia[edit]

I'm trying to move the draft SunClass Airlines to an article, but can't delete the former SunClass page as I'm not an administrator. Are you able to fix this. Thanks (Airline7375 (talk) 15:04, 1 November 2019 (UTC))[reply]

 Done - moved as requested. MilborneOne (talk) 16:14, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

More copyright violations[edit]

Too much of the text of UTAGE Flight 141 appeared to have been directly copied from the BEA report and I had to remove it as a result. In addition Vietnam Airlines Flight 815 also has poorly revised text and some parts directly copied. Tigerdude9 (talk) 22:21, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) sourcing request[edit]

Hello and good day. Go to first paragraph of article where it says ..covering 4,850 acres (1,960 ha) can you source that with form 5010, FAA Airport Master Plan for DTW. Put citation after (1,960 ha). Can you or someone do this? Would be much appreciated. Thank you and have a good day.2601:581:8000:BDC0:304C:CD3D:3958:6A95 (talk) 13:00, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Air-Britain[edit]

Hi, I have updated this article, after another editor's good faith attempts were rejected. I would be grateful if you will kindly check it for current WP practices, and either amend it or advise me about how I can improve it (perhaps add an Events section?). MTIA, PeterWD (talk) 09:44, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Peter OK I will have a look, I dont see why it cant be added as in "AB organise annually this or that", what really help is non-ab references that refer to them, for example the fly in, perhaps in one of the pilot magazines. MilborneOne (talk) 10:50, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. After a bit of searching, perhaps it was the facebook mentions that caused the bot action. Problem is, so few mentions elsewhere, and I'm too busy to get any other likely mags or books. I have to get Aviation Historian extracts from other people.PeterWD (talk) 11:00, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Airtours/MyTravel[edit]

Am I correct in saying that Airtours was only rebranded to MyTravel and therefore they should both be merged together. They were the same company just with a different name until 2007. (Airline7375 (talk) 19:48, 30 November 2019 (UTC))[reply]

I am wondering why you would remove useful navigation and awards from this article based on your personal preference. WP has these navigation bars for the benefit of our readers and they improve the article. Lightburst (talk) 19:32, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Because there is a guideline somewhere that says you cant, dont remember the name but it will come to me in a moment. MilborneOne (talk) 19:37, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I started a poll on the talk page. Lightburst (talk) 19:43, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, consensus is not really a poll but I will comment. MilborneOne (talk) 19:47, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Any of my TPS remember than name of the guide that says dont add a nav box to article that are not included, thanks. MilborneOne (talk) 19:47, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Haine was in the RAF, in WW II, In the battle of Britain. Of course he is not personally named in one of these navigation bars. Not necessary to be named personally. Lightburst (talk) 19:52, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK found it WP:BIDIRECTIONAL. MilborneOne (talk) 20:11, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

List of airline codes[edit]

MilborneOne, you're right; my edit to List of airline codes (A) was confusing. I was trying to clean up Airspeed Aviation and that was the only mention I could find for the former airline - I got carried away. Thanks for fixing it. Leschnei (talk) 13:19, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bad form. As an administrator you should be above these petty forced moves. You have been arguing with anyone who disagrees with you about navigation bars based on your interpretation of guidance. I am not going to keep up this ongoing argument with you since you are displaying a WP:BATTLEGROUND mindset. Even an administrator should follow policies like and not be WP:TENDENTIOUS with those they disagree with. Lightburst (talk) 17:04, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As you know WP:BRD requires challenged edits to gain consensus. MilborneOne (talk) 17:11, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Do we have a duck quacking?[edit]

It is {User|Speedbird6104}}. Could he be Ryan K? Air Canada Flight 837 had Ryan like typos in it that needed correcting[2]. Then we have this other recent edit[3] to a Manchester England related topic. Wasn't Ryan from Manchester? @YSSYguy: may want to chime in with his opinion....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 16:13, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing really obvious Ryan apart from the spelling, his area was Dudley and Birmingham and they liked to do other disasters not just aircraft. Worth keeping an eye on for any of the other Ryan signs. MilborneOne (talk) 16:30, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Milb1, could you take a look at Bob Brillante, and see if it is worth userfying? He has co-founded the new Black News Channel, and since its been 8 years since the article was prodded, he may now be notable. Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 20:30, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Confusion[edit]

Hello, Milborne. I understand your wanting to benefit Wikipedia as well, but I have noticed especially in my own country that there are multiple denonyms for America/the United States of America. American is #1, and U.S. is #2. You live in Sussex county, in England under rule of the British Queen Elizabeth, whom I most greatly honor, and since you live there, you are unfortunately not in an environment where people call themselves U.S. as well as American. The difference is this is my country I'm editing for, and I am around that sort of environment. I appreciate your help, but I assure you that this process was and will be %100 in control and I promise great accuracy. I mean no trouble but I'm afraid that any more intervention from you will result in consequences of your rights as a Wikipedia user and your 119,544th edit will likely be your last on this account. Thank you very much, and have a great day. Evan Wenning (talk) 22:17, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. Please be assured that there will be more reliable sources. Thank you. Evan Wenning (talk) 22:19, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dassault Rafale[edit]

Hi Milb1, one user has 4 reverts on Dassault Rafale. I hate to ask for full protection, but it might be necessary in this case. The user has also accused editors of national bias in removing information. Sigh. Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 15:16, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have blocked the user for a week, they have a long history of edit warring we may have to consider a not here block next time. MilborneOne (talk) 18:46, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I agree with the block. - BilCat (talk) 19:13, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Aircraft in Royal Australian Air Force service[edit]

Hello, I hope that you don't mind me undoing your changes to remove Category:Aircraft in Royal Australian Air Force service from some articles. As these articles cover aircraft which were only ever used by the RAAF, they're in effect also the '...in Australian service' articles for these types so this categorisation seems sensible. Regards, Nick-D (talk) 07:22, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I have to disagree with that I dont see why the RAAF is an exception. MilborneOne (talk) 21:34, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infobox aircraft begin[edit]

Milb, can you look at Template:Infobox aircraft begin, and see if you can delete/disable the logo parameter? WP:AIR discussed using logos in the infobox over 10 years ago, and I removed it in 2010. I'm not a template editor, so I can't remove it myself again. (Hmmm, it might be worth unretiring again if I can get those rights. :) ) Thanks. - BilCat (talkcontribs)

Agree it is not needed, not sure I can remember how to do it, do we know any template editors ? MilborneOne (talk) 22:09, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Soko J-22 Orao[edit]

M, could you take a look at Soko J-22 Orao, and if it needs protection? We have a nationalist edit warrior removing citation needed tags, re-adding flag cons, and making similar edits on other Serbian related pages. Not sure if they qualify for a block yet, but they've been warned for edit warring on multiple occasions. Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 05:07, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Both User:Илија Гуск and User:YSSYguy have been edit warring on the article, with a long stream of mutual reverts, although they seem to have avoided going over 3rr. They don't seem to be talking on the article talk page.Nigel Ish (talk) 10:11, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm pretty sure that User:Илија Гуск is a sock of User:Karen_Kho - popped up right after Karen was banned for sock puppeting, pushing the same nationalistic agenda, even several identical individual edits. The situation is muddy, but I'm fairly sure that dialogue won't affect it - I already conversed more than most with Karen to be met with lies and evasion. I'm fairly sure that user, under any account. is never going listen to anyone other than themselves. Kyteto (talk) 13:02, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Good work. User:Karen_Kho was blocked as a sock of Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/VJ-Yugo, who has a loooooooooong history of socking. @Ktrimi991: and @Ivanvector: have experience with this sock farm, so maybe they can help out. Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 17:13, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi. It is very obvious that Илија Гуск is a sock of VJ-Yugo. The way of editing and chosen topics are consistent with those of previous socks. Илија Гуск was created 4 days after Karen_Kho was created, and started to edit after the latter was blocked. In the very first day of editing did not forget to revert to Karen_Kho's version [5]. There should certainly be further evidence but I do not have time rn. Even if the account was not a sock, it should be blocked for disruptive editing (VJ-Yugo's socks getting blocked for edit warring is sth usual). Cheers, Ktrimi991 (talk) 18:21, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
In looking at this, I agree - time for a block there. WP:DUCK. - Ahunt (talk) 18:23, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also, some 68% of edits made by Илија Гуск were made on articles edited by Karen Kho, although both accounts have small numbers of edits in their history. After another quick look, I came across another case where the former reverts to the latter's version: [6][7]. Ktrimi991 (talk) 18:45, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Concur with DUCK. - BilCat (talk) 18:49, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Based on the concerns and conclusions above, I requested a SPI [8]. Ktrimi991 (talk) 15:44, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! It was quickly confirmed, blocked, and tagged. We'll be on the lookout for more of this sock farm's puppets. - BilCat (talk) 16:39, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Based on his Wiki CV, it is a matter of time before he creates the next socks (I say this assuming that he has not created them already). Cheers, Ktrimi991 (talk) 16:48, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that User:Ktrimi991, it would suprise me if they appear again in a few days times. MilborneOne (talk) 17:24, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
He enjoys getting blocked. He said that via one of his socks one or two years ago. :) Cheers, Ktrimi991 (talk) 17:28, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Probably better to perhaps revert and protect the article in the future rather than gave them more sock trophies. MilborneOne (talk) 17:31, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. Article protections are important in such cases. Editors aware of his socking need to keep an eye on his preferred topics. Ktrimi991 (talk) 17:36, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, the socks seems to edit on a number of articles, so blocking is often the only recourse. - BilCat (talk) 17:45, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it depends on the situation. For some sock masters socking is an art. :) Ktrimi991 (talk) 18:07, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've seen better artists. :) - BilCat (talk) 18:17, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Completely unnecessary discussion on 'Boeing Cargo Air Vehicle'[edit]

Is it our task to write good articles, linked to reliable secondary sources or shall we better create long and unpleasant discussions almost longer than the article itself? Boeing CAV is a short article about a minor subject, I created in English, German and French because nobody else wanted to do it. I didn’t expect someone to be grateful or saying thank you. But I do expect to be taken for serious and don’t want to receive ungratefulness. We are adults here, that’s a fact and not close to personal attack territory. If the result of many hours of good work for free is the threat of maybe blocking my account, it’s too much. Do you want to cast out someone who did a lot of good articles since years? Do you want to give an example for others better just only read Wikipedia instead of working for it? Some people enjoy to tease others (not you), know almost everything better and have a talent to seem as an innocent victim. That’s a part of being a human being.

I don’t believe what companies write about their own prototypes. It’s not necessary to move the text closer to advertisement by using primary links. If an independent professional magazine or website shows the specifications, it’s a different case, even if it’s the same data. I try to avoid primary sources if possible and for sure you know the rule about secondary sources too. Everybody can declare something to be a fact, even when it isn’t. The German and French version of this article use only secondary sources already. A lot can be found. I hope you understand me better now.

If someone types ‘Boeing CAV’ in a search engine, the Wikipedia articles will be shown on first place. So I don’t think it’s a good example or advert for Wikipedia to show our discussion there. I didn’t agree to move it to this place and I won’t agree in the future. I already asked him to move it back to M L. If he always does what he wants when someone involved doesn’t answer immediately, he can do a lot of other indiscreet things too. So I ask you to delete the unnecessary discussion completely please. For sure you can do it because you’re an administrator. --Leo067 (talk) 06:06, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You are welcome to cross out your comments on the talk page but it is the correct place to discuss article content. I dont have a problem with using secondary sources but as far as I could see we dont have any in the article that supports the specification section so we have to use the Boeing data. If you have secondary sources from the German and French articles that support the specification figures then your are welcome to add them rather than the Boeing one. Hey MilborneOne, could you rename the article on Danish Air Transport to DAT (airline) or something similar? It rebranded over a year ago to DAT and also changed its incorporated name to DAT A/S as can be seen on their site, e.g. dat.dk or on their privacy policy. "Danish Air Transport" is nowhere to be read anymore. Best regards! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.174.173.214 (talk) 08:59, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) Milborne1 hasn't been on Wikipedia very much lately. I'm able to make most page moves, but I'm hesitant to do it in this case. None of the other major Wikipedias have moved their "Danish Air Transport" articles yet, not even Danish or German. Are you certain this isn't just a rebrand? I'd need to see some reliable third-party sources for an official name change first. - BilCat (talk) 09:22, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
