Welcome![edit]

Hello, Minimal Trevor, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

You may also want to take the Wikipedia Adventure, an interactive tour that will help you learn the basics of editing Wikipedia. You can visit The Teahouse to ask questions or seek help.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. April 2017[edit]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for persistently making disruptive edits. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 10:29, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • You appear to be adding multiple welcome messages to a number of user talk pages at a very rapid rate (including 146 of them to User talk:& - I have reverted them now). Please explain what you are doing. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 10:30, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have now reverted or deleted all of your multiple messages, and in doing so it has become clear that you are running some sort of automated process (known as a 'bot' here) on this account. That is strictly prohibited without first obtaining approval, as it is easy for such a process to run amok, as yours has.

As you do not appear to be supervising, and I can not allow this to continue when the 31-hour block expires, I have now made the block indefinite - it can be lifted as soon as you assure us your automated welcoming process has been stopped and will not be restarted.

If you do wish to run an automated process, please first read Wikipedia's introduction to bots at Wikipedia:Bots, and then the policy page at Wikipedia:Bot policy and follow the approval process it describes.

If you have any questions, please post them here and I'll answer when I am able. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 10:58, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies - my testing was obviously not thorough enough! I've switched the bot off permanently now, I'll only pursue manually from now on. Once again sorry for the inconvenience! Minimal Trevor (talk) 11:03, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I've unblocked your account - on the condition that you perform no automated editing at all without following the approvals process. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:08, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your good faith! Minimal Trevor (talk) 11:11, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Please note that you still have a bot active undoing good edits for no reason. Best regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.171.179.129 (talk) 12:52, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Boing! said Zebedee: In case you didn't see the recent edits and my block, just a PSA not to fall for this again - I'll be keeping an eye out for similar Ext-Conf avoiding techniques. Sam Walton (talk) 13:02, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, thanks Sam. I meant to check back on his contributions, but I got distracted by other things. It's quite clear that he went right back to running an unapproved bot again. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 13:09, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Reversion[edit]

Hi, given the article history and previous protection for removal of references, what was the rationale for removing them here [1]? Thank you, 2601:188:1:AEA0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 12:54, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

2601:188:1:AEA0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 I've restored your edits, as this is an obvious case of not looking closely enough. Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 12:58, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies, you are correct! Minimal Trevor (talk) 14:07, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks to you both. Cheers, 2601:188:1:AEA0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 14:15, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I'm sorry, my account was hacked and anyway I won't do it again.

Decline reason:

Nope because we have no way of verifying that any communications from this account are from the original account holder. 5 albert square (talk) 14:46, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
