For your outstanding work on templates, you deserve this - Pheonix15 16:48, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks a lot. Miranda 00:18, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

September 2007

I noticed the message you recently left to Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Udreams. Please remember to try not to bite the newcomers. If you see someone make a common mistake, try to politely point out what they did wrong and how to correct it. Thank you. I don't generally believe in templating the regulars, but your MFD of User:Udreams is a classic example of how we should not treat new users. Please try to give new users a chance to contribute to the project. After Midnight 0001 13:26, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Please don't template the regulars - Thanks. Miranda 20:41, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
You were not templated. As you can see above, I gave you a customized message. You should be able to see that I said that I don't normally use the templates, but that you deserved a special message. In case it is not clear, the message is "your MFD of User:Udreams is a classic example of how we should not treat new users. Please try to give new users a chance to contribute to the project." --After Midnight 0001 20:49, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Okay, well, please try to make contributions which help improve the project instead of templating regulars. Contribute to a WikiProject or something? I don't need someone watching over my edits. I have been/still am going? (me thinks) through that, and it is was hell. Miranda 20:53, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Contribute as in writing/correcting grammar in an article. Miranda 20:54, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
It isn't considered watching over your edits when we are in the same IRC room and you start talking about the MFD that you posted. I don't think that you will find me anywhere near your other edits. --After Midnight 0001 20:56, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
No, I have other people watching over me, which I am not at liberty to name. And, secondly, I am not going to be active on IRC anymore because it is a waste of time to me. But frankly, don't expand drama over a small incident. Okay, I was wrong, I apologize. Move on. Thank you. Miranda 20:59, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for apologizing. I will consider this done and remove your talk page from my watchlist. --After Midnight 0001 21:07, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

A certain MfD

Hi Miranda. I'm surprised that you haven't been messaged about this yet, so I'm going to take the leap and do it myself! I'm going to try to remind you about not biting the newbies. We were all once new here, and we need to try to remember that, and treat others as we would have liked to have been treated. Getting a message about how our user page is about to be deleted just two hours after joining the project is not going to make us want to stay, and I know that it would have made me leave. The damage seems to have been done in this case, and I suspect that we've lost another contributor to Wikipedia, before he's even made any contribs. Wikipedia has a bad enough reputation - we need to actively encourage people to join and help, not drive them away.

However, there may be a way to repair some of the damage. The user who was the target of the MfD has enabled email from other users. I would encourage you to go for this opportunity. Thanks, Martinp23 21:18, 2 September 2007 (UTC).

I did. See past history. I am archiving this now. This issue is done with me. Miranda 21:23, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Thank you - I unfortunately don't read your peoples' talk page histories before commenting, hence why I feel that premature archival is a bad idea, especially for posts critical of oneself. That said, it is your talk page. Martinp23 21:26, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Marking accounts you've created

When you create an account at WP:ACC, please place a {{ACC|c}}, not a {{takenote}}. This should mark it for the bot who helps maintain the page and its subpages. Od Mishehu 06:43, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I didn't know. Sorry. Will do that from now on. Cheers. Miranda 08:52, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Administrative patrol trial

Hi Miranda. I was unaware of a sort of "administrative patrol trial" as you mentioned on the Betacommand 2 RfA. Could you provide any further information about that? I was unaware of such a trial, and am curious. Thanks, Iamunknown 02:12, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

It's a suggested compromise. There is probably such a thing, but you need to ask the arbitration committee for more details. Miranda 08:25, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

My RFA
I thank you for participating in my successful request for adminship, which ended with 60 supports, no opposes, no neutrals, and one abstain. Thank you very much for your thoughtful comments, and I certainly see where you were coming from with your concerns. Edison 17:18, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi! The text in the image is wrong – it should be libre, not gratis. See Gratis versus Libre. This is quite a fundamental difference.

The banners are great though, and it would be cool if you could make one with Norwegian text as well – the text would be Frie bilder for alle. Jon Harald Søby 15:34, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

I am quite busy right now. And, I just learned that the ads won't be shown universally on the Wikimedia Foundation websites, but rather is optional on blogs/website. Wikipedia is not my full-time job, and I have an avid life outside of Wikipedia. I will see what I can do, but I am not making any promises. Miranda 20:34, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

attribution readded

It got lost in a revert a while ago but I put it in back in June. I reinserted the attribution on the talk page. Thanks for the offer of making a military motif page, but I'll pass, I'm fond of the current version for the time being. When I get sick of it though, I'll probably ask you for a law related page (gavels, and scales of justice etc.) Thanks.... SWATJester Denny Crane. 03:48, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

It's generally discouraged for an IP to remove warnings on a talk page. See userpage for more information. Miranda 21:00, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Generally with IP user removes his or her warnings, it's generally discouraged because the IP can be shared by many users of a school, educational facility, or company. You can archive your warnings, as seen on archive. Miranda 18:38, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

I haven't followed the Encyclopedist. Is it the AfD or the spoofing that leads you to believe this is a sock? -- Flyguy649 talk contribs 07:21, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Threats

You have no right to make any threats against me for violating WP:3RR when you are just as guilty. If you revert any of the "Incorporated" changes, you will be blocked as well. Please keep that in mind, and also try some civility. It will get you much further than this current attitude does. Justinm1978 04:01, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

How interesting that you accuse me of personal attack, but when you issue a [similar warning to me], it's somehow not personal. I sense a distint lact of good faith here, and I really hope this is not the case because I respect a lot of what you contribute. That said, I think you are taking this too personal because your org is one of the ones in question here. Feel free to remove this, and we'll take it from here to the mediation page. Justinm1978 04:20, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Like pot, like kettle :-D. Add evidence to the mediation page, instead of disrupting to make a point further by reverting my userpage (which I can do under this), sorority pages, or you will get a block for violating 3RR. :-D M.(er) 04:28, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
As long as you are aware of the fact that you are not innocent of what you accuse me, I'm fine :) See you on the mediation page! :) Justinm1978 04:32, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Imagine this, you and others work on an article, research, etc., then all of a sudden a person who doesn't know a thing about the history of the sorority and title in order to prove a point without discussing the matter on the talk page. You have done this before with other articles with the NPHC with Alpha Phi Alpha. I don't care if you contact Ccson with this matter, because he has done a majority of the work on the Alpha Phi Alpha article. He would probably agree with me, since he is in the fraternity. Because of your "all of the sudden 'I am right' revert war edits" without backing them up, which is considered original research, is irritating me. Here's a suggestion, why don't you research, add to, and improve articles, instead of making a battleground as well as personal attacks, reverting my edits on my discussion page, when I explicitly did not want them to be there. I don't have time for a debate. Please have respect for other editors who are working a hell of a lot harder to improve this site, or be blocked for disruption. M.(er) 06:52, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
By the way, I am not part of any organization. Please don't associate me being a member with any NPHC organization, okay? M.(er) 07:14, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Admin

I've noticed in the history of pages you revert edits and identify them as vandalism a lot, even though sometimes they are just good faith. That's why you won't be an admin either, because you think you can boss other users around and say things are vandalism even when they aren't(sometimes). See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Melina_Perez&diff=159084390&oldid=159082790 .... you identify that as vandalism? That is good faith and even if it isn't it certainly isn't vandalism. Administrators can correctly identify vandalism, and since it would seem you can't that's why you won't be one. Wwefan980 18:22, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

By the way I'm not an admin hopeful which is why I don't care if I am one. Wwefan980 18:22, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

First, assume good faith when bringing up a new topic on my talk page. Comments such as "you can boss other users around" and "administrators can correctly identify vandalism...and since it seem you can't" is kind of assuming bad faith about my contributions to the project. Second, in order to edit the encyclopedia, you have to follow the rules and guidelines of the project, mainly outlined in the five pillars. Second, the subject of the topic is a living person. Living persons fall into the category of biographies of living persons, which states something to the effect of libelous and poorly sourced materials should be removed. Since the IP inserted the fact, I identified it as vandalism, because the fact was unsourced at the point and IMHO, considered to be original research. The IP, then noted that the source said the fact to be true according to the source. I have read the source of the article, and the fact of her "attention" is sourced in the article. M.(er) 07:22, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

lol ok. Wwefan980 13:15, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

I am okay with you mediating the case. However, I will no longer comment any further on the case since it is up to the organizations in question to determine whether the words "XXX Sorority/Fraternity, Incorporated" should be in the article. M.(er) 04:57, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
I will wait for a response from the respective organizations, then I will comment on my points. M.(er) 04:59, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Curtis Willkie

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Curtis Willkie, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. KenWalker | Talk 15:43, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

If you can create one then I would like a dark blue background and the folowing images included, Image:Nuvola apps kcmsystem.svg, Image:Nuvola apps kig.png, Image:Nuvola apps kmplot.png and Image:Nuvola apps kcalc.png as suggested on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Engineering#Gaining more members. Your help will be greatly appreciated by the wikiproject as we need more members but I will understand if you can't make the ad for whatever reason. I would once again like to apologise for taking your time. Thanks. Tbo 157(talk) (review) 12:35, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

I will make an ad with one of the images, probably with the main project image. I am quite busy, so please understand if your banner is not in a timely manner. Also, please note that I quit the project a long time ago (seen by this revelation), and gave it to PPG.  Mirandargh  20:37, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
Also, next time that you want an ad made for your project, go to the banner project, see who is available to make banners for that project. This takes a lot out of my free time, and I would appreciate if you would have taken those avenues beforehand instead of asked me to create a banner for your project at the last minute, when I am trying to take a break from Wikipedia as a whole, out of respect for me, because I am not being paid to do these banners.  Mirandargh  02:47, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
This is the absolute last ad I am going to make for this project.  Mirandargh  03:38, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your suggestions. I've responded to them and would like to see your feedback. Thanks! - Mtmelendez (Talk|UB|Home) 14:40, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
