Re:Big haul this weekend :)[edit]

Cool to get all those pictures. By the way, I have responded at the GA review for MD 12. Dough4872 (talk) 14:29, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I see you already passed it. Dough4872 (talk) 14:30, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Who knows what we will do next. I am considering doing 70 later this week. Dough4872 (talk) 16:42, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, 71 is a route that needs work. I am waiting on doing 72 until I can obtain a picture of the route. Dough4872 (talk) 16:44, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, I do not have any immediate plans to travel to Jersey so I am unsure if I can get any pictures. Dough4872 (talk) 16:50, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, wanna take the discussion to IRC? Dough4872 (talk) 16:57, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gladstone station[edit]

Sure. The problem is, as with all NJ NRHPs, that New Jersey doesn't put the applications online (unlike NY and PA). So we'll have to find what sources we can. Daniel Case (talk) 16:31, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WPTC Assessment[edit]

Hi! Since you have recently posted to WT:WPTC or otherwise been involved with tropical cyclone articles, please nominate and review pages at Wikipedia:WikiProject Tropical cyclones/Assessment so we can revive this process. Thanks in advance, –Juliancolton | Talk 14:22, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, we met at the meet-up the other day so I know you're a big photo and road buff. Do you happen to know of a better photo of a cracked NYC sidewalk? I just pulled the only one I found off Commons. Thanks, Savidan 02:22, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New Jersey Route 180[edit]

It appears your recreation of the New Jersey Route 180 article was overturned, as it was merged back into New Jersey Route 72. Rschen had conducted the merge and randomly plopped the 180 information after the 72 information. I left a message on his talk page discussing how I feel about the move. I figured it was my duty to inform you also. Dough4872 (talk) 14:59, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for New Jersey Route 85[edit]

Updated DYK query On October 5, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article New Jersey Route 85, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

WTM - Webster Hall?[edit]

Hey. I was just looking at the WTM list and saw Webster Hall and Annex listed on there. The address given is 119-125 E 11th. How is that any different than Webster Hall, whose address is 125 E 11th? — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 14:01, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re:More photos[edit]

I saw, I was looking at your Flickr images. Dough4872 (talk) 21:16, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Question about road terminology[edit]

Is it standard practice for our articles about roads conform to using the terminology presented in this NYSDOT document? Specifically I'm talking about page 4, concerning the difference between an expressway and a freeway.Camelbinky (talk) 02:08, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, you had said it would be a bad idea and I figured if I dont have your support then it's not worth my effort. I am just curious and interested in broadening my knowledge and had used that document in different article relating to something on a different page of that document and when I read the part about terminology I got curious if that was the standard for Wikipedia as well.Camelbinky (talk) 00:25, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Route 405[edit]

Nice work on Pennsylvania Route 405. I am glad that it made GA and happy to see some of my photos on the page. The picture that you have of 405 in Dewart, isn't actually on 405. It's a side street that is just off 405. Dincher (talk) 18:47, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Did you miss this note? Dincher (talk) 03:11, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for letting me know. I didn't even think of checking the page, my mistake there. I can't speak for Ruhrfisch, but I might be interested in working on 405 or 287 for FA status. My time on and access to wikipedia has but back a bit from what it's been in the past, but I should be able to help. Do you have interest in the histories of the communities along the routes? Is that something you'd include in an FA highway article? Dincher (talk) 12:43, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I think I saw some information on the plank road on the Route 287 article. Now I am working on straightening the Chillisquaque Township's on the 405 article. There's a East Chillisquaque and a West Chillisquaque. Dincher (talk) 12:51, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Chillisquaque can be tough to spell, but it's got nothing on Schulykill if you ask me. I've done so much work on PA articles, that I don't usually mess them up. Looking at the Muncy pic, I am not sure that that's actually 405 either. I think it may be just off 405. The intersection at the redlight is. I think. I'll have to look at a map when I get home. But I am pretty sure that it's not. 405 goes from Muncy to Hughesville, right? Dincher (talk) 13:01, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, the picture that I took in Muncy shows a movie theatre on the left and at the light ahead you would turn right to go to Montgomery and left to go to Hughesville, so 405 is up there at the light. The street in question is Main, Market or Water, I don't remember. I used to drive an ice cream truck in the area. Dincher (talk) 13:10, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like Water St is 405 and the Ritz is on Main St. I think that the picture still works for the article since it shows an intersection of 405. Dincher (talk) 13:30, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ruhrfisch has two pics of 405 in Hughesville on Commons. File:Hughesville, Pennsylvania corner.jpg and File:Hughesville, Pennsylvania street.jpg. Also he posted on my talk page that he'd be happy to help with Pennsylvania Route 287 and Pennsylvania Route 44 both of which he has tons of info for. Dincher (talk) 15:18, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

9N southern terminus photo[edit]

I hope you don't mind this edit of mine. Now the context of that shield is clearer, I suppose. (Did you realize you were standing next to a historic post office when you took the first pic? :-)).

See you tomorrow. Daniel Case (talk) 19:40, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WTM additions[edit]

Not a problem; Rich already took it out (With my son in tow, you know I'll be taking those pictures anyway). Daniel Case (talk) 03:00, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, you don't have to lug him around with you this weekend :-). Oh, you're talking about the pizza party. I'm bringing the cell this year ... as long as there is fresh pizza waiting (and I'll bring the laptop too so he has another distraction), he'll be OK (Or maybe I can persuade my mother to take him for that stretch ...)

Re:Two more done, one 1/2 done[edit]

Cool. Sorry I did not do much last week, I was busy with schoolwork. I'm planning on starting U.S. Route 322 in New Jersey very soon. Dough4872 (talk) 21:07, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I can talk quickly, but I am also watching TV. Dough4872 (talk) 01:31, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I saw you added several roads to the list that needs to be done. I don't see why you decided to include select named roads, like Skyline Drive. What makes some of these roads notable compared to numbered roads, such as the 500-series routes? In addition, I don't think it makes much sense to split 29B as it was never built and can simply be described in one sentence in the NJ 29 article as it is. Dough4872 (talk) 17:09, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Washington County[edit]

Alas, no. As you may notice from the light in the ones I recently uploaded, it was getting late in the day at that time. My priority was the buildings. I would love to have taken the time to stop along Route 149, which I now consider one of the most scenic in New York, but I just didn't have it to take.

If you're talking about the NY 22 article, I do have some somewhat usable images of downtown Hoosick Falls that I took and will be uploading for the historic district article. But, granted, that's in Rensselaer County. Daniel Case (talk) 14:13, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Ha! I was right about 151[edit]

Interesting, I did not think New Jersey would use three-digit numbers prior to 1953. Dough4872 (talk) 20:44, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, thanks for making the fixes in the GA review of U.S. Route 1/9 Truck. Dough4872 (talk) 20:48, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Next week, I will start working on my next article. Dough4872 (talk) 20:57, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I think I am going to do 22 next, then 46. After that, I will either do the north-south U.S. routes or start on the Interstates. Dough4872 (talk) 21:00, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I know, I'm saving the hardest for last. Dough4872 (talk) 21:15, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I may need some of your help with the longer articles. By the way, when we get to the articles about the turnpike and the parkway, which will probably be the hardest as they have tons of information, is it possible if you can do one and I do the other? Dough4872 (talk) 00:24, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, so you can work on the Garden State Parkway while I'll eventually do the New Jersey Turnpike. Dough4872 (talk) 00:32, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
