John WI Brown[edit]

Hi:

In a few moments, I'm going to post a speedy delete to the John WI Brown article that you have recreated twice after it was duly deleted per vote on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. If you wish to appeal the deletion, Wikipedia has an appeals process. But, please, don't just recreate the page again. Just like anyplace else, Wikipedia needs rules in order to function; please obey them.

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:TomTerryFrances2004.png[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:TomTerryFrances2004.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 23:57, 27 February 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fred the Oyster (talk) 23:57, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:DailyBuzz.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:DailyBuzz.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore will not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used once again.
  • If you received this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.
  • To opt out of these bot messages, add {{bots|deny=DASHBot}} to somewhere on your talk page.

Thank you. DASHBot (talk) 19:13, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Tdblogo2010.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Tdblogo2010.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILYsock(TALK) 00:54, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article John Brown (news anchor) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

zero evidence for notability. His book are each in less than 60 libraries.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.   • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
