PS: Also, on your edits to September 11, 2001 attacks, make sure they are correct. The planes were aimed for the Eastern US, not the west.

I like your work on the Radnor High School page which I started. I didn't go there but have lived in Radnor Township since I was 2 years old. I did attend Wayne Elementary and Radnor Middle schools from 1990-1992 though. My grandfather, James F. Merriman was a big supporter of the Radnor High School scholarship fund. Also, I would love to get to know you better... can we meet?

You may want to take a look at a project under development at Template talk:Infobox Commercial Ship and the related template, which you may find helpful in article creation. Liberty of the Seas[edit]

Hi, thank you for keeping the pages correct. On the Liberty of the Seas info box, you changed "Freedom of the Seas" to "Liberty of the seas". The previous format was correct and is the standard. The picture is not of Liberty, but Freedom (sistership to Liberty). The way it is currently formatted is confusing and incorrect. Please change or I will. Freedom Class edits[edit]

Hi, I had adjusted the introductory notes for the article for the following reasons: in terms of passenger capacity and overall tonnage.: passenger capacity has never been a criteria for determining "world's largest ship". It is even debatable whether this can even be proven for in the days of steerage, many ships carried far more passengers than they were "designed" for( one reason why it is not really known how many people died on Titanic). Also limiting it to "...in terms of gross tonnage" also intimates that there are other categories that she is not the largest (well the Freedom ships are not the largest ocean liners ever built).

The Queen Mary 2 still hold the title of longest cruise ship worldwide.:this is irrelevant and inaccurate as QM2 is an ocean liner and not a cruise ship. She holds multiple other records, but those are covered in that article. ( I understand the fascination with the QM2, but it does not need to be referred to in every article). (Example: Sears Tower is the tallest building in the US and second tallest in the world. It is the tallest in the city of Chicago. However the Pentagon is the largest office building in the world. The last phrase is irrelevant and could be substituted with the size record that the building does hold).

I am still trying to edit the article and upload a "comparison image (with great difficulty) so we can "coordinate" the wording of the intro.Let me know what you think. Gary Joseph 02:22, 30 March 2007 (UTC) Responses[reply]

The Queen Mary 2, to my knowledge, also doubles as a cruise-liner (from Ft. Lauderdale during the winter-time); hence the reason why I inserted the statistic. This is true, but there is the difference of what a ship is designed as and what it is used as. QM2 is an ocean liner that does ocean voyages and cruises. There are performance, structural, and design criteria that goes into designing an ocean liner versus a cruise liner (although both types are passenger ships). Just as there are planes designed to do short trips, versus those that do longer ones, but you can use the longer-trip type to do short trips. Also, the QM2 article, which is pretty good, states all this (after much arguing and editing I might add which some members are still not happy about).

As for the comparison image, couldn't it be easier simply to contact the company/person in question and ask for permissions? I tried that on the Liberty of the Seas article, and it turns out that it worked. The comparison image would be a great addition to the article. I was not clear. I created one on my own, to scale, using a sillouette of a Freedom-class vessel, with some typical other things, a Boeing 767-400, a Hummer H2, a regular 8-car city train, and the Statue of Liberty. There is also a scale bar on it. I am having technical problems as I uploaded it, but then it would not show up on the image page or the article.Gary Joseph 15:17, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for getting back so late, but I do agree with your suggestion about turning the Staue of Liberty. Although in real life, one never gets to see it like that. That comparison was for height-to-height. I can make a comparison on length-to-height and include Sears, CN Tower, Tapei 101, and ESB.But I am not sure if adding that would be too much.Gary Joseph 05:12, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
