Editing topics and creating articles[edit]

Good Morning Bri,

For the first time yesterday, I tried editing an article on Wikipedia.

Akpevwe Ogboru of Delta State Nigeria was able to travel over 8,000km on bike through 13 African countries.

The update and reference was removed with comment - Must have an article.

  • Can I or anyone create an article on her behalf?
  • Is the article supposed to be on wiki?
  • Can the article be short like 50 words?
  • How and where can I create the article.

Hi Mogboru1! I moved the conversation here from my talkpage for convenience. Yes, you can create an article, and it should be here on Wikipedia. 50 words is really short. The best thing to do is go to Help:Your first article and read as much as you can. I know, it's a long page, but at least the first section. You will want to collect some reliable sources about the subject. Newspapers and television are best for something like this, my guideline for articles I create myself is that there are at least three from really good sources like national newspapers. You can start with this one and this one. Then, when you have a few reliable sources, a the help page, click the blue button that says Article wizard – It will get you started with a draft article. And have fun! I'll keep an eye on your draft, and help if I can. ☆ Bri (talk) 16:30, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
