If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on AlHajjar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Hello, Moh32, and thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia!

I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you worked on, AlHajjar, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

It helps to explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the Help Desk. Thanks again for contributing! I, Jethrobot drop me a line (note: not a bot!) 18:35, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of AlHajjar for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article AlHajjar is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/AlHajjar until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. I, Jethrobot drop me a line (note: not a bot!) 05:46, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You should consider posting your comments at the actual deletion discussion here. I am not really the one who decides whether the articles should be kept or not, but rather, the community decides. I, Jethrobot drop me a line (note: not a bot!) 15:40, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also, as important as you believe the family might be, the sources you have provided do not appear to fit our standards of what we call reliable sources. Your sources include two forums, which contain user-generated content, which we can't trust because anyone can say anything they want. It also includes an Islamic website which appears to offer religious services and information, but that kind of website would only provide evidence of verifiability, not notability for people. So far, that website is a citation about some kind of property deed, but that's it. It's not even clear, based on your sources, that the people who you say are in the family are actually in the family. It is especially important to have reliable sources when we are writing articles about living people as well, some of whom are included in your article.

Secondly, you need to have sources to write an article. The sources need to come first, then the article, not the other way around. To say that "the sources will come, and I don't have to provide them" is so unlike the spirit of Wikipedia, I don't really have anything more to say about your opinion. After reviewing the discussion and the article, I have deleted the article as the consensus is that there are no reliable sources, and thus there is no verification that this particular family is notable. If you should acquire sources in the future, I recommend trying WP:Articles for creation, which will let you make the article and then have a more experienced user evaluate it first so that you don't have to go through another deletion discussion. As I Jethrobot says, you have to have sources first before you can show the subject's notability; you may also want to review WP:RS, which has our guidelines for what is or isn't a reliable source.
