Speedy deletion of Duncan MacDonald

Please Explain

Hello,

I have posted one of the players who links off of the 1961 Memorial Cup link, Duncan MacDonald. Each time I try to post the information, which is easily verifiable both through the links I updated in the article and via newspapers and more, I get messages saying that I cannot post this, it has no signifigance or that I am now going to be banned? Please clarify this as I don't understand how this is insignifigant considering it is all factual and certainly is a valuable and requested piece of information of that era of hockey in particular. Just so you know, that era of hockey laid the groud work for what is the St. Michaels team today and of many years past since.

The fact is, administrators will not search Wikipedia for links to Duncan MacDonald. The notability assertion (that is, the subject's main claim to fame) has to be in the article itself, and preferably in the very first sentence. So he was in the 1961 Memorial Cup... What has he done there that got him noticed? What about his NHL career? You might want to take a look at WP:SPORTS, and, if you think MacDonald is notable per those guidelines, you might want to rewrite the article to reflect that. --Blanchardb-^{Me•MyEars•MyMouth}-timed 21:13, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Ok, well I think I understand. I understand upon review of your guidelines that unless someone has achieved something short of professional achievement, or having time as a professional wherein a considerable contribution of their efforts has reflected to that as well, they have no place on this service.

That is what I understand. I thought this was somewhere that anyone could post anything provided it was substantiated.

My mistake.
