Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Manchester City F.C. into History of Manchester City F.C.. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:44, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 21:25, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Manchester City[edit]

Hi, not a biggy but please in the future could you double check your edits, you reverted some work done on Manchester City F.C. by other users and myself, however if you look again I was tidying up the mess another user had left the squad template in. Thanks, Footballgy (talk) 06:57, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I think you've done this again earlier today. You reverted work done on Manchester City F.C. by other users and myself and in the process undid several legitimate edits by returning to a previous version from some time ago. Please can you take more care in checking your work. As this is your second infringement after a previous warning, I will add an official warning Ratchet8865 (talk) 19:44, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm usually focused on improving prose & grammar and making sure infoboxes and tables follow a consistent format. For these reasons I tend to revert articles to my revisions, while re-introducing valuable and positive changes by other editors. Sometimes I miss out on something and for that I apologise. Otherwise, my edits are always designed to improve whichever article I'm working on. Monerals (talk) 12:36, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Edit-warring on Manchester City F.C.[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Article shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Thenightaway (talk) 23:43, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What was that? Did you unnecessarily just revert the edit of me adding Alleyne's actual profile as a mark now? Rubenaf16 (talk) 18:01, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Stop edit-warring yourself before levying threats against others. If you cannot factually disprove that City Football Group is a UK-based entity, then please abort your efforts to leave out that information from the article. Thank you. Monerals (talk) 04:01, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Editing advice[edit]

Hi, I have received a talk page post from User:Stevencocoboy about your disagreement. I would suggest you use the talk page to find common ground, and maybe fix up his English instead of reverting. PhilKnight (talk) 07:37, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm trying to do that, but some of their edits are really unnecessary and require either trimming or outright removal. Monerals (talk) 07:59, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for reply. I know my english are badly because I'm from Hong Kong. I hope you can fix up my English instead of reverting. Also you shouldn't add some wrong information, remove references and delete some fact contents. I'm willing have a dicussion with you. Thanks. Stevencocoboy (talk) 08:06, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'll take a look at that a bit later. Cheers. Monerals (talk) 08:10, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much. Stevencocoboy (talk) 08:29, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
