Congratulations on the acceptance of the Morton-James article.
By your username, it appears that you're closely associated with the library, so this may be the only article you've ever wanted to create. However, if you're interested in doing more with Nebraska City and Otoe County history, you should know that any site listed in the National Register of Historic Places is generally considered to meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. There're 26 NRHP sites in the county, many of which don't have articles at all, or that have articles like St. Benedict's Catholic Church (Nebraska City) that're so slapdash as to be an embarrassment to Wikipedia. I assume that if you're based at the library, then you've got access to lots of good local sources; so should you find yourself with an excess of spare time...
If you're interested in further work on NRHP sites in Otoe County or elsewhere, you might want to check out WikiProject National Register of Historic Places. The talk page there is a good place to find answers to any Wikiquestions you might have: several of the members were unstinting with useful advice and suggestions when I was first embarking on my WP editing career.
If you've got any questions that I might be able to answer, please feel free to drop a note at my talk page. WP needs somebody doing quality work in southeastern Nebraska— Ammodramus (talk) 13:28, 26 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the barnstar, and for your kind words. I'm glad that I could help you get the Morton-James article off the ground. You were making great progress on it; I just sped things up a bit. I hope that you'll consider writing more articles on Otoe County NRHP sites.
Getting started as an editor can be a bit intimidating at times. I've been at it for something like six years now, and although I've still got lots to learn, I know my way around a lot of the more commonly cited Wikipedia policies and practices. If you're working on an article and someone leaves you a note full of Wikijargon, or urging you to do something for which you haven't the first idea how to begin, please feel free to call on me for help.
Among other things, I noticed that in the Morton-James article, you listed citations by hand instead of using the usual markup language and templates. References can definitely be a bit confusing, and if you're trying to insert some and experiencing frustration, I'd be glad to try to help you out. Just leave a note at my talk page (you can start a new conversation by clicking the "New section" in the top center of the page), and I'll get back to you.
Hope for more Nebraska City articles from you in 2016— Ammodramus (talk) 21:50, 26 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
