Melodrama (Lorde album)[edit]
Despite the fact you came back to revert me over something I did 10 days ago, your note has been rewritten because it wasn't clear whether you meant after the album or the single was released. One could argue it doesn't matter much considering it was added after both, but it should be specified. One could assume otherwise the song was remixed directly after the album's release, then put on there as a bonus rather than because the song was remixed for single release, it was added to the Spotify edition. - Sure, but what I took issue with is the "Spotify added" part; Spotify did nothing. Lorde's label redistributed the album to Spotify with the extra track. You're free to rewrite my note, but don't add something that isn't true. (I'm fine with the way it is now, for the record.)
- Also, no, I didn't come back just to revert your edit. I was simply reading the article again, because I wanted to check which song it was that Tove Lo co-wrote, and noticed the updated (and misleading) line. - And because you were asking if "its release" referred to the album or the single: that doesn't matter. Both possible meanings of the sentence convey that the song was added to the record 1) after the original release of Melodrama and 2) after, well, being released, because it can hardly be added to the album if it's not actually out yet. —mountainhead 23:09, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
- I'm sorry that my initial rewording was something I wrote without focusing on the obvious fact that Spotify doesn't compile records, bur rather the label. And yes, I pointed that out, but as I also just pointed out, it's not as if artists have never put out an album, then thought to remix or redo a song, then re-release the album with those version(s) included. What the remix was added to the album for was because the song was remixed for single release and became the better known version of that song, not simply an afterthought after the album was put out. - …but what is your point? What are you trying to prove to me here? Sure, this isn't the first time that has happened, but why are you telling me that? Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. ArbCom 2018 election voter message[edit]
Hello, Mountainhead. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
