Hi there! I'd like to invite you to explore Wikimedia Canada, and create a list of people interested in forming a local chapter for our nation. A local chapter will help promote and improve the organization, within our great nation. We'd also like to encourage everyone to suggest projects for our national chapter to participate in. Reverting Vandalism[edit]

Thank you for reverting vandalism to Wikipedia. After you revert, I would recommend also warning the users whose edits you revert on their talk pages with an appropriate template or custom message. This will serve to direct new users towards the sandbox, educate them about Wikipedia, and a stern warning to a vandal may prevent him or her from vandalizing again. Thank you. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Ocdsb.JHPUlogo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ocdsb.JHPUlogo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:02, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:MCARlogo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:MCARlogo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. PxMa 16:42, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:COBYlogo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:COBYlogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:19, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Hi Mr.Badlands!
We thank you for uploading Image:OCDSB D. Aubrey Moodie Intermediate School.jpg, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.

Please do not delete content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Category:Somali emigrants, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. – Good Ol’factory (talk) 04:16, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Heritage Brewing, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. MarkDask 14:43, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

my comment to User:Nyttend re deletion of the Heritage Brewing page[edit]

"If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag;" What is the point of the hang on tag is you delete the page before anyone gets to comment.

The [:Heritage Brewing]] page you deleted can not be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person because the company no longer exists. The article was written to start documenting the history of a local company that existed in a community that was at the forefront of the resurgence of people paying attention to local food and breweries and at the same time rejecting the control and influence of big corporations and other large centralized organization who spout the old ways. This article is no more an article about a company, corporation, organization, or group, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject than any article in categories Category:Canadian brewing companies, Category:Beer and breweries in Canada, etc. Quit freaking out and pissing off editors by proposing everything be deleted.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Heritage Brewing requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please take a look at WP:NOTE and WP:CORP for the general notability guidelines for companies. You will need to show significant coverage in major media of more than local standing. The subject should focus on the company, rather than a list of their beers and their attributes, which did in fact come off as promotional, given the absence of any indication that the company no longer exists. Acroterion (talk) 03:23, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Kindly refrain from attacking me with comments such as "Quit freaking out and pissing off editors". Nyttend (talk) 04:16, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Your latest article wasn't on the brewery but you had recreated it with you rationale of why it should be included. There was no information on the brewery in the article. That is why it was deleted under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you believe it is notable under WP:CORP, try recreating it and using a neutral tone. If you need help, let me know.--NortyNort (Holla) 10:45, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You can request on User talk:Nyttend that he send you the original text of the article. I never saw the original article and am not an administrator, so I cannot restore deleted articles. Nyttend will most likely place the article in your user space where you can work on it.--NortyNort (Holla) 02:43, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
