December 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Tgeorgescu. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Talk:Bible have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. tgeorgescu (talk) 23:28, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Tgeorgescu! Thank you for your comment. According to your comment about advertising and using Wikipedia to promote, I am aware of the terms and policies of Wikipedia. I didn't want to promote any subject or opinion and that is why I posted it on a talk page, trying to ask people about their opinion. My apologies if my post was sounding promotional, but that wasn't my intention. As a volunteer of Original Bible Foundation, I am not employed, as it was a personal decision to contribute in the research of the Bible and support their mission.
Coming from the scientific background of this nonprofit organization, I am supporting their work as their mission is to scientifically prove the existence of an intelligent being. Their approach is different from the already existing nonprofits and groups for research and that is why I considered of sharing it with the Wikipedia community and contributors in order to discuss and research the nonprofit's work.
As there were numerous researches and translations published on Wikipedia, I considered sharing the nonprofit's work with the Wikipedia community for analysis. I would like to share an example here: List of English Bible translations of where their translation and research can be published for example.
As a volunteer and contributor on Wikipedia, I would like to hear your opinion @Tgeorgescu about this nonprofit organization. Can the Wikipedia community of contributors and experts research, analyze and possibly support this nonprofit organization's work?
Thank you!
P.S I would also like to share with you, that there are thousands of followers to the Original Bible Foundation's work and there can be people who would also request for help or support from the experts and contributors from Wikipedia, for example. Mr.Durnbey (talk) 21:33, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Recruiting people for your organization is not what the Wikipedia Community does.
You may try asking for a stipend from the Wikimedia Foundation, but they only grant such stipends if you got scholarly clout. tgeorgescu (talk) a16:40, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Tgeorgescu, thank you for your reply, but I am not trying to recruit anyone. You clearly didn't understand my point, as my first question was to research and help, but you understood it as a promotion. I am asking for experts to research and analyze the work of the Original Bible Foundation, since their scientific background can change the way we understand the Bible and our perception and understanding of it so far.
Can you help me and show me where can I ask and talk with people who read and understand the Bible?
Thank you! Mr.Durnbey (talk) 20:19, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Real experts generally speaking are not Wikipedians. The one exception I know is XKV8R. There was a guy working for Bart Ehrman, but only concerned with Ehrman's biographical article.
  2. Wikipedia offers neither academic consultancy nor services of peer review. tgeorgescu (talk) 20:31, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

January 2023[edit]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Talk:Bible code. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. tgeorgescu (talk) 13:40, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Tgeorgescu, I didn't try to promote or advertise a product or service. My intention was to propose another source for research of the Bible code, so contributors can agree/disagree and debate over the subject. Please propose a valid or, I will say a right way to ask a question or a propose for another research to be asked/posted in order for the contributors to share their opinions. I would like to hear other opinions of the subject too, but I didn't get the chance. Thank you! Mr.Durnbey (talk) 15:24, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This isn't a research institute. Do not promote your own research inside Wikipedia. tgeorgescu (talk) 21:34, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
