Your RfA nom

Good day, Mr Prez. I notice that you have nominated yourself for adminship. I commend you for mustering the courage to nominate yourself. However, I must warn you that your RfA will likely fail because you simply do not have enough experience. For instance, your edits number just over 300. Many users believe that a few thousand edits are required to gain enough knowledge of Wikipedia policies and processes to be a good admin. In addition, you had to ask where to go to nominate yourself, and you haven't nominated yourself correctly. Given these points, I implore you to think twice about your decision to nominate yourself. If you decide to continue with your nomination, then please follow the directions starting with step 9. Regards, Xenon54 (talk) 16:17, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Category syntax

I've noticed a couple of times that you have transcluded the description of category:Desserts to the bottom of your article when you meant to include the article in that category. This is just a friendly note to let you know the correct syntax.

 • To include a page in a category, type name of category. For example
 • To link to a category without including the page in the category, type :name of category (i.e. include a colon between the [[ and the category name). For example :category:Desserts

The syntax page is for including another page, normally a template, on the page you add it to. See also Help:Category. Thryduulf (talk) 11:53, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Asking for help

I made a request on the New contributors' help page and you responded that you could change a title of an article for me. I responded on that page, but wasn't sure whether I was supposed to respond to you here. So here I am. Sorry if I'm not following protocol. Here's what you said, and my response:

What I'm guessing is that you got confused with redirects. For the redirect to work, the title of your page has to be Richard Hay (American theatre scenic director). Since I'm guessing you can not move pages (change the titles of pages) yet, you should ask another user who can to do it for you, I'll do it if you would like. Mr. Prez (talk) 16:01, 22 June 2009 (UTC) Thank you. Would you rename the existing Richard L. Hay page to Richard L. Hay (American geologist)? When I see that's done, I'll post the new one: Richard L. Hay (scenic designer)JanetFA (talk) 17:23, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks very much for your help.JanetFA (talk) 22:39, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

I was successful and appreciate your directions.JanetFA (talk) 20:20, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

hello!

Hello Mr Prez! How do you create a page.I want to learn evreything their is to learn!

Problem with my Richard L. Hay article

You helped me last week set up a disambiguation page and to change a redirect page concerning Richard L Hay (scenic designer). I just discovered that someone eliminated the disambiguation page and re-created a redirect to Richard L. Hay (geologist)--so no one can find the page I added. I want to reverse what was done, but I'm wondering if I can do that. Can you as an editor step in and tell Dekimasu to leave the disambiguation page alone?JanetFA (talk) 00:12, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

On my User talk page you told me all is well. The problem is that the Richard L. Hay (geologist) and Richard L. Hay (scenic designer) and Richard Hay (disambiguation) all exist, but if you type in Richard Hay into the search box, you get sent directly to Richard L. Hay (geologist), completely by-passing the disambiguation page. Right now the only way to find the scenic designer is to search for Richard L. Hay (scenic designer). Again I ask for your help.JanetFA (talk) 20:42, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

I found your response to this note really frustrating. Wikipedia doesn't require a seeker to put in the whole title of an article. I don't have to type in "Sir Tom Jones (singer)" in order to get to the article on him. If I type in "Tom Jones" I'm taken to a disambiguation page and there I can choose which Tom Jones I want. That's the way it should be for Richard Hay as well. I had it all set up and it worked until someone changed it. I need your help in changing it back. If you can't, would you tell me where I should go for help on this?JanetFA (talk) 20:32, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

I decided to fix it myself. I edited the redirect page so that it linked to the disambiguation page. I hope no one changes it because it works right now.JanetFA (talk) 15:59, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

adoption

I just noticed your note about adoption on my talk page. I keep asking you for help, and you respond, so I feel adopted. I certainly appreciate being able to ask questions and get fairly quick answers. I'm anxious to see your response to my last problem.JanetFA (talk) 18:12, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Problems with a picture

Can you check out what I'm doing wrong with a picture I uploaded? It's richard hay scenic designer.jpg. First I uploaded it without adequate permissions. I then corrected that and uploaded it again with all the proper OTRS permissions. You can see that information on this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=File%3ARichard_Hay_scenic_designer.jpg&diff=302432452&oldid=301073606. But when I edit the article and try to put in a thumbnail picture, it doesn't work.JanetFA (talk) 01:42, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Aqua Teen Hunger Force

I reverted your renaming of this article. Per the Adult Swim website, and various other sources, the correct title of the show ends with "Hunger Force", not "Hungerforce". Gpia7r (talk) 19:03, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
