Clarifying the problems with my publication[edit]

For the article titled Gyeongnam International Foreign School there is a banner that states the article may be an advertisement. I've tried to edit or cut any parts that I see as self promotional, but I don't know if my changes are sufficient or how to have the article allowed permanently. Other private schools listed in the encyclopedia have very similar content but aren't flagged. I don't understand why this article is being classified differently. Any insight?

  • I have looked at the article, and don't think it looks particularly like an advertisement, so I have removed the tag. The only thing I could see at the time the tag was added that might have been questionable was the use of the words "we" and "our", but such trivial details like that can easily be edited, so I don't see any justification for the tag. When it was tagged with that banner in this edit, it still reeked of self-promotion, including fragments such as "we have students" and "Our students". I see those are now gone, and agree with removing the "{{Advert|date=November 2010}}" tag.   — Jeff G.  ツ 10:05, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Gyeongnam International Foreign School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The subject fails WP:NCORP and WP:GNG. This article (and many like it) serve as promotional pieces for the schools as no independent critical coverage of the subject exists. Because WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES can no longer be used as a rationale at AfD, this article has no quality to prevent deletion.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
