Removing stub tags?

{{helpme}} My middle school students are expanding stubs in order to learn more about how Wikipedia functions. Should I be removing stub tags as we go, or does that fall to a higher level administrator? Thanks! - MrPaulsClass (talk) 21:51, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

If you expand the article, and decide that it's no longer a stub, then just remove the template. We admins do not go round checking stubs. If you wish for a second opinion on any page - then use the talk page, or the article's project talk page (if there is one)  Ronhjones  ^(Talk) 21:55, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Sinezona lyallensis

It's a very good initiative to learn students editing in Wikipedia. More teachers should take this initiative, as this is being done in several universities. However, in this special case, you have been working on a synonym of Schismope lyallensis, which ,in turn, is a synonym of the accepted name Sukashitrochus lyallensis (Finlay, 1926) (see : WoRMS : Sukashitrochus lyallensis). I have therefore moved the article to the accepted name. Taxonomy is a very tricky field, even for the best malacologists in the world. Don't let this deter you and be bold. November 2010

Hi, since you're a class of students I thought I'd take the time to let you know that I've reverted your edit to Fender Stratocaster, which means that I undid the addition of two sources to the article. The reason for this is that I checked those two websites out, and as far as I could tell they did not appear to be a reliable source. Generally I tend to stay away from personal websites when sourcing articles, and instead prefer magazines, in the case of guitar-related articles magazines like Guitar World, Guitar Player, Guitarist are my first places to look. Books are also a good source of material for these things but somewhat more difficult to find, and in some cases newspaper articles (e.g. interviews) also contain valuable information. This means that finding good sources is somewhat more difficult than just googling for them, but it has the benefit of making sure we have good source material to reference in our articles.
