December 2019[edit]

Information icon Hello, Mxaviere. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.--VVikingTalkEdits 14:43, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the misunderstanding[edit]

There's been a big misunderstanding that is the root of all your trouble here so far:

The article David Edwards (engineer) is not Edwards' "personal page" -- it's our page about him.

We're not a blog, we're not a social media site, we're not a pulpit, we're not a resume hosting site, nor a place to promote one's career. This is why we don't use phrases like "pioneer of creativity," "inventions address the future of food and healthcare," or "utter newness where artistic expression and scientific exploration meet" -- that and it's just not neutral.

As someone who knows Edwards, you should not even be editing the article about him. You can make edit requests on the article's talk page.

Thank you for clarifying. I wasn't trying to made unacceptable edits rather update to reflect accurate information. I appreciate the clarification you brought up and will suggest edits accordingly on the article's talk page/ edit requests. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mxaviere (talkcontribs)

Socking or editing while logged out[edit]

Hello, Mxaviere, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia. Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you.--VVikingTalkEdits 00:34, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

January 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 19:20, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I had used Mxaviere (talk) 20:15, 2 January 2020 (UTC) at the bottom, which I had read was the equivalent and requested as signature. If I should be using something different, please advise. I am new to this.Mxaviere (talk) 20:15, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
