About vandalism warning[edit]

I was under the impression that placing in an article's name specifically in a vandalism warning meant that the warning is specifically for that article alone; that's why I didn't put article names in my last warning because it was for multiple articles. Had the vandal been warned about the other vandalisms he/she made, it would amount to a four-level warning anyway, so I don't see a problem there. :-/ --SilentAria talk 12:05, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

About the Negima pictures[edit]

Almost all of the pictures of the students in the Negima character articles (Characters of Negima (1-15) & Characters of Negima (16-31)) have been deleted. Won't you do something about it and reupload them? - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 02:09, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Magic in Negima[edit]

I have nominated Magic in Negima, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Magic in Negima. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Notability of minor fictional characters[edit]

I'm not a Wikipedia regular, so a little clumsy sometimes. However, I think the onus is on the creators of umpteen Galaxy Angel character pages to demonstrate notability. They might take offense, but there is a Galaxy Angel wiki for that. But I will revisit the pages to explain more, chiefly that "There are specific notability prerequisites to be met by fictional subjects to warrant articles specifically about them. As mentioned earlier, the rule of thumb is that if the topic is sufficiently notable, secondary sources should be available. It is important that articles give due weight to all aspects of the subject, and to avoid placing undue emphasis on minor points. This concerns all elements of the article page, including infoboxes and succession boxes as well as images and the text." Fences and windows (talk) 13:33, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yomiko Readman Page[edit]

Saw you removed the trivia note about Yomiko's cameos in Kamichu. Not sure why you removed it--it isn't "unsourced"--it clearly cites the name of the show and the episodes in which the cameos appeared. What further "source" do you think is required? It's a visual gag, it's not like there's any text to reference. Should thumbnail screenshots be included? Anyway, might be interesting to note R.O.D's creators dropped her character design into another show that they made. I didn't want to undo your edit before discussing your rationale (I know generally trivia sections in R.O.D are discouraged, but could be re-added under a header like "references in other series"). Anyway, thanks for your consideration and I hope you can clarify this for me. DeathQuaker (talk) 13:19, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your quick response. When the primary source material provides the obvious information required, supporting sources aren't necessary (for example, if Yomiko Readman says in episode 15, "I am unemployed," I do not need to cite an external source outside the anime to prove that she is unemployed. If I did, it would be pointless and redundant, according to the best research practices taught to me while I was studying literature in graduate school). However, I guess the real question is if it's useful information to provide. I'll consider that, and if I do re-add the note about her appearance, I will provide appropriate screenshots and a quote from Kurata, the writer of both series, about it (I have to research that but I know there is one out there). Thanks for your time. DeathQuaker (talk) 17:31, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Aeris Gainsborough[edit]

You'll have to inform me precisely what was incorrect about my edits, or I will be forced to assume you are merely pushing a biased agenda in direct conflict with a neutral point of view. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.246.135.192 (talk) 00:53, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And your neutral point of view means using an incorrect translation of the term in which newer translation from the same company also reflects your incorrectness? Great, that is why you are introducing factual error into the article. The article got enough information as to why Aerith is used over Aeris, you ignored the fact that it is currently official, and use your own knowledge without sticking to the sources provided within, thus you are the one against the NPOV article, not me. Thank you. MythSearchertalk 03:40, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Look, we're beating a dead horse here. Your baseless assertion that "Aerith" is the only correct spelling is a personal opinion. It is explicitly stated in the article that both spellings have solid basis, and both spellings have been used in official publications. The intention I had when editing the article was to make sure the "Aeris" spelling is used when referring to her appearances in the games where that spelling is in fact used, thus improving the factual accuracy of the article. In addition, using the "Aerith" spelling on the "Aeris" disambiguation page is nothing more than confusing. It absolutely needs to be spelled "Aeris" on that page. I hope you'll recognize a well-reasoned argument and put aside personal issues for the benefit of the encyclopedia and its users. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.246.135.192 (talk) 03:52, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Char Aznable[edit]

Okay, I hope that's the right place to put it... I just wondered why you keep removing the list of 'Char clones'. I do no, they are no actual clones and it's not an official statement of them being 'Char's but it's a widely used term in the fandom and most of the listed are meant to be like Char... So, I wonder if we can reach an agreement about inserting the list or editing it the way it fits. - Thanks. Kato86 (talk) 23:27, 21 July 2008 (GMT)

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice[edit]

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Image permission problem with Image:Negima Sayo Aizaka.gif[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Negima Sayo Aizaka.gif, which you've sourced to http://www.konami.jp/gs/game/negima/vol1/students.htm. I noticed that that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 16:44, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

re V2[edit]

V2 has appeared in several of the SD Gundam games as well as SRW. The one you're thinking of is Great Battle 4, which had Ultraman, Kamen Rider, SD V2 Gundam, and an original char which teamed up to fight evil, using a super robot named Compatible Kaiser (which later made an appearance in SRW OGS). Jtrainor (talk) 18:57, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please be careful on this article as you are close to breaking (or have possibly already broken) the WP:3RR rule by edit warring to establish your POV on the spelling of mehve/möwe. While your source does show the spelling as "möwe", WP:MOS-JA and WP:MOS-AM clearly indicate that the official English spelling should be used (which is, not coincidentally, the most common spelling as well). Please discuss this on the talk page rather than continuing to revert other editors just to get your preferred spelling into the article. If you keep pursuing this path, it is likely you will be blocked for violating WP:3RR (though it would be someone else who would do the blocking as I have been involved in the editing of the article). Let's keep things civil and discuss it on the talk page instead of engaging in an uncivil edit war. Thanks! ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 23:34, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

November 2008[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. This is your second time this month. You've been here long enough to really know better. If you want to argue your version on the talk page, please do so, but stop reverting and stop edit warring. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 16:10, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is ridiculous, I have not reverted the article 3 times and every edit adds different sources and corrects other mistakes in the article, this warning you have given me is totally showing that you are not trying to improve the articles, and is simply against my edits. MythSearchertalk 16:18, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you have now, and considering you were already warned on this article once before, three isn't required for you to be considered edit warring. You continue attempting to manipulate sources to try to put in your point of view which is totally unacceptable. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 16:29, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That past warning is also at the point of where I did not revert it 3 times AND the edits I have made this time is totally not reverting the article to that particular edit. I do not know what you are seeing here, but very obvious that my edits are at least trying to improve the article, your edits are simply blindly reverting, while you are the one trying to edit war with me, I do not see why you should be the one warning me. License tagging for Image:Gundam-Century.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Gundam-Century.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 23:23, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:Gundam_firefighting.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Gundam_firefighting.jpg. Unfortunately, I think that you have not provided a proper rationale for using this image under "fair use". Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. Note that the image description page must include the exact name or a link to each article the image is used in and a separate rationale for each one. (If a link is used, automated processes may improperly add the related tag to the image. Please change the fair use template to refer to the exact name, if you see this warning.)

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 00:27, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:VX2.jpg[edit]

Thank you for making a report about Diffusingengineer (talk · contribs · block log) on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, it appears that the editor you reported may not have engaged in vandalism, or the user was not sufficiently or appropriately warned. Please note there is a difference between vandalism and unhelpful or misguided edits made in good faith. If they continue to vandalise after a recent final warning, please re-report it. Thank you! It's not at all clear that this is vandalism. Try welcoming the editor and giving pointers to how to contribute constructively. Toddst1 (talk) 15:52, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request[edit]

Tylerwade123, a user who has been blocked multiple times is repeatedly adding original research and personal opinions to the Lunamaria Hawke article. He is also misrepresenting a source that says this character came in 4th in a fan poll for which Gundam Seed character people would most like to see in a swimsuit, using wording that makes it sound like they came in 4th in a poll of all Gundam characters. He also keeps deleting a cite to the official website and replacing it with a link to the Anime New Network. Please take a look at the article and see. Taunting blocked users...[edit]

...is seldom productive. these comments are probably a bit excessive. Rather than enflaming the situation, just let everything cool off and let him just be blocked. The entire thing needs de-escalation, and comments like that do not really serve to bring everyone into an attitude of collaboration, they merely cause others to develop a "bunker mentality" and perpetuate conflicts rather than resolve them. He's blocked, and that's enough for now. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 12:57, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User Rebelprince started editing [1] 4 days after Tylerwade123 was indefinitely blocked. [2] Though Rebelprince has remained civil and avoided edit warring, his talk page and edit history show he has common interests with Tylerwade123. Of more concern, Rebelprince has recently created a new category [3] and started spamming it across some of the same articles Tylerwade has shown an interest in and added a talk page comment that engages in heavy praise of Tylerwade123. [4] Edward321 (talk) 05:40, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
