License tagging for File:Gertrude baniszewski.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Gertrude baniszewski.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 08:05, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries[edit]

Hello again. A friendly suggestion, which you're free to take or leave. I bring it up because you're new here and clearly have the makings of a valued editor.

Your summary for this edit was "This same fact is referred to in a subsequent paragraph with its own citation. READ THE ARTICLE BEFORE EDITING". The first sentence of your summary explained things perfectly and would have sufficed on its own; the second was needlessly confrontational because it was in the imperative mood, made an assumption about another editor, and was typed in all caps. If you must use the imperative mood (and that's rarely necessary in an edit summary), a simple "please" softens it a bit. In fact, I had read the article but had somehow missed that part (like most editors, I'm human and imperfect). And regarding the capital letters, since before the advent of the World Wide Web, using all caps has been considered "shouting" and is generally better left for extreme circumstances.

Here at Wikipedia, the way almost everything worth doing gets done is by collaboration. Most editors have thick skins, but all it takes is one oversensitive editor who takes offense at perceived incivility to throw an article or whole category into progress-impeding drama. So it pays to keep friction to a minimum whenever possible. Rivertorch (talk) 18:27, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for shouting. Won't happen again.Mytvc15 (talk) 22:07, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Gertrude baniszewski.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Gertrude baniszewski.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:25, 27 July 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Alexius08 (talk) 13:25, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Gertrude baniszewski.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Changeling (film) appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. --Dan Dassow (talk) 03:44, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
