Fair use image use[edit]

Per Wikipedia:Fair use criteria item #9, the use of fair use images outside of the main article namespace is not permitted. Thus, the use of images such as Image:Austin Powers.jpg is not permitted on your userpage. To identify such images look for the term "fair use" in the image's description page. If you have any questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. --Durin 20:24, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. But who got rid of the Chris Brown one because it was fair! — Preceding unsigned comment added by NJ Rock (talkcontribs) 03:50, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • 75.31.254.255 did, not I. I've treated it as simple vandalism and reverted it. --Durin 04:06, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I never said you did, i know it was the IP guy, but thank you.

  • I've cautioned you before about the use of fair use images. You are aware of the policy. You know you are not supposed to use these images on your userpage. Yet, as of today you put fair use images back on your userpage again, even using one image that I had removed from your userpage before. I have, yet again, removed these images from your userpage. Willfully violating Wikipedia policy on this counts as vandalism. Consider this a final warning. If you violate this policy again, I will temporarily block you from editing. I am quite happy to help you discern what is and is not a fair use image if you are having problems with that. I am quite happy to answer questions you have on this issue. However, continuing to violate this policy is not an option. --Durin 14:42, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Damn, sorry I completely forgot, won't happen again.--NJ Rock 22:31, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • And once more you did so, adding Image:Eminem.jpg to your page. This is a fair use image, though I'm giving you some slack on this since at the time you added it the uploaded had also said it's public domain. It can't be under fair use here and public domain. I've removed the public domain element, since it's fair use in reality and tagged it for deletion since it's not used in any articles. It should not be used on your userpage. --Durin 19:16, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

O, didn't even notice that picture, it used to be another picture but it got erased and I guess this has the same name and it automatically changed to this. - ME

What's Good I Was Just Lookin At Ya Page If You Wern't Sure Why Ja Said Dre is Bisexual See [1]

One of their albums contains pictures of Dr. Dre wearing lipstick and mascara at which Eazy-E, dissed him for in the song Real Muthaphuckkin G's showing pictures of him from this album. Eazy-E comes to rap his verse, when he says "all of the sudden Dr. Dre is the G thang but on his old album-covers he was a she-thang", a picture of Dr. Dre from the World Class Wreckin' Cru days shows up on the screen where he is wearing mascara and lipstick

  • I know that, its just u dont call someone like Dre bisexual, even if what he did in the past was kinda... gay

  • I know, its just I thiought I didn't have to since it's right in the paragraph above.

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Dre's Protege, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Where in the MoS or relevant Wikiprojects do you find justification for your incorrect capitalisation or use of "small" tags? --Mel Etitis (Talk) 21:55, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know what "neat" means? slob... it just looks better, and you can see it in plany of pages... is there justification for incorrect use of uncapitalization and the use of normal letters where unecessary

First, read and obey WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA or you'll be blocked. Secondly, Wikipedia doesn't follow your personal aesthetic sense, it follows its own guidelines and policies, including its own Manual of Style. If you keep reverting corrections that edit articles in line with the MoS, you will be blocked from editing for disruption. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 22:04, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

U need to god damn calm down, because even though ur morals are going haywire over this god damn lame edit war, wen u sed back off, last time I checked, I backed off. Im not the only god damn guy whos in this okay, back off.

By the way, "god damn" is an adjective for verbs and adjectives in the statment, not a personal attack word

tha war[edit]

  • Hey NJ Rock, Durin here. You and I've worked together before regarding fair use images on your userpage and thinks worked out amicably, which I really appreciate. I saw your stress meter on your userpage right now and know a lot about what you are commenting on, though I've not edited the articles you refer to. I thought I might point User:Durin/Fair use overuse explanation for you to read. It's a bit long, but worth the read to understand the situation. The main crux of it is that we are a free content encyclopedia, and non-free content like album covers interferes with our m:Mission. That's no good. So, the foundation's taken a clearer stance with regards to such copyrighted works and would like to seem them limited as much as possible. That's why we're on about album covers now. We're ok with album covers being on specific articles about that album, but it's a no-no now in discographies. I hope this helps, and I hope your stress level goes down :) If you have questions, ask away. Happy to help. --Durin 01:27, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks man, you really did help though, thanks for being concerned too. - NJ Rock

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on The World is Yours, by Mattbr (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because The World is Yours is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting The World is Yours, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page.
