Awards tables[edit]

When you get back... I created {{Infobox Awards}} to replace the use of tables for awards. I currently use it in Advancement and recognition in the Boy Scouts of America#Cub Scout advancement and in Distinguished Eagle Scout Award. It works well, but needs a bit of work. I cannot figure out how to implement the valign parameter to vertically align the text and image. I would appreciate any help. If you can think of any other features, go for it. --Gadget850 ( Ed) 18:03, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BYU lead[edit]

There is a discussion going on at BYU's page about the lead. Since you took part in the last one, I thought you may want to have a part in this one. Let's work together to knock out a good, solid opening. Thanks, Wrad 03:08, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Userboxes[edit]

I noticed you told another guy how to include an image on a userbox. I was wondering if you could tell me how or give me the link to where it says how. Thank you so much for your help.--Dylanbforthree 23:00, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Userboxes[edit]

Well thankyou for putting it so bluntly...hmph! But yes, I guess they are. The think is when I created them, they all had images (hapily used elsewhere on wikipedia) that the copyright police decided were not acceptable for use in useboxes and thus deleted all the images. Thus - substandard userboxes. After they all got anihilated by the deletionists I gave up on bothering to make any more. If you can fix them it would be great. Also would appreciate your advice on how to fix the sports ones. If you look at my user page there are a whole bunch of clubs that I support and I tried to change them to have club logos, but once again the deletionists relaced the images with stupid three letter codes instead of the colourful logos that were there before. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Pulpandpaper.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Pulpandpaper.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:35, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:EagleScout.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:EagleScout.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:56, 12 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 01:56, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

BYU Template[edit]

Hi NThurston. I understand that you're really good with conditional templates and ParserFunctions, so I'm hoping you can help. The BYU Userbox Template already has a switch to change the type of image used, which is nice, but I would also like to add a way to distinguish between current students, alumni, and fans (similar to UT Austin's and Missouri's). I tried some changes myself to no avail. Can you help? --Eustress (talk) 18:13, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem[edit]

Thanks for your uploads. You've indicated that the following images are being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why they meet Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page an image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --03:26, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Mb091c.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mb091c.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:26, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:BlockLetterP.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! A tag has been placed on File:Gold Eagle17x15.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Notice

The file File:UserboxScale.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused, superseded by File:UserboxScale.svg.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 08:12, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
