Rail Issues[edit]

G'day. SatuSuro here. I dont know what info you have to hand, but it would be agood idea to track down geoff highams work as his book which is a list of every rail location + more, would be a good start. If you belong to the arhs, the weekly notices in the library, or a full set of westland would be good too. I have no idea what you might or might not have. I have many clues if you wish.User:SatuSuro 11:54, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

suburb maps[edit]

I feel these big wa maps with a small red blob in the corner quite disturbing, any suggestions? i suppose its a well intentioned person from elsewhere (now there's an art i havent done yet, elsewhere) but not very useful? User:SatuSuro 15:12, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I came across your conversation and thought you both may be interested in http://www.placeopedia.com/ I've been adding WA articles to it recently and love the way they appear in seconds on Google earth. Probably not ideal for linking from wikipedia itself but for me it's pretty amazing seeing the actual places from satelite pics. Cheers. SeanMack 14:10, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

wow, here i'm trying to make the wiki break a definite one, and another project jumps up1 When I'm back in december I'll try to deal with this one User:SatuSuro 14:36, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sources for Bakers Hill, Western Australia[edit]

Hello, good work on Bakers Hill, Western Australia, and thanks for the contribution. However, you forgot to add any references to the article. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. What websites, books, or other places did you learn the information that you added to Bakers Hill, Western Australia? Would it be possible for you to mention them in the article? Thank you very much. - SimonP 05:26, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Eastern Railway[edit]

Good to see some editing on the monolith - dontcha reckon we ought to have a seperate article for east of northam?? i noticed the big money stuff at the bottom - thought maybe we need 'eastern railway' part 2 or something? I mean when I get carried away and start adding all the stopping places on version 1 and 2 of the eastern railway to kal - it will need to be a list anyways..  :) cheers User:SatuSuro 14:09, 15 December 2005 (UTC) humbarrassed, just realised we had egr (northam to kal) in the system already!User:SatuSuro 14:11, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the welcome back. Here to cause trouble again! Yup I think the egr starts at northam. anyways the egr article looks like it could do with a good spring cleaning - go for it! User:SatuSuro 14:25, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wickham[edit]

I was wondering if you had any more pictures of Wickham. When I was a young pup my family and myself moved there, the same year they opened the primary school. I lived there for four years before we moved back to the U.S. and have many good memories of the place. I can be contacted at rhill@wluctv6.com. Or if you know of another site that might have pictures. Many thanks.

Shenton Park[edit]

I noticed that on the Shenton Park, Western Australia article, you said that Shenton Park is located within the City of Nedlands. This was later changed to include the City of Subiaco. I was just wondering why you thought that Shenton Park was located in the City of Nedlands, as i cannot find any evidence to support this. Maybe it used to be or maybe i am missing something? --Ali K 09:47, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

Thanks for the tip on licencing for my uploaded images. As silly as it sounds, I still don't really understand the whole wikipedia images/commons images/sharealike/shareattrib/etc. I guess if I actually spent a bit more than 5 minutes reading the documentation it might help. By the way, you are a Western Australian Wikipedian Machine(tm). It no longer suprises me when I see your name in, well, anything I look at even remotely WA related. Good stuff. G'day[edit]

I've only just started loading images from commons today, first try is with Chippers Leap which I'll have to pass by snotty/drew for some extra details (seeing he is into things from the 1800's at the moment) when he is around! Now that I have a handle on uploading, I'll be able to plumb the depths of my ancient rail photo collections! Wow, you wont believe some of it! Keep up the good work!User:SatuSuro 14:38, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As for rotto, if you've got any input on the extra list article, please! Ian was sounding "dubious" about having it, so other input is always appreciated - I was editing Mahogany Creek this morning, thinking it looks familiar - and I'm the only editor to date  :( , any extra photos anywhere much appreciated!! Fair use rationale for Image:Vh-njl.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Vh-njl.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Emergency-dvd.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Emergency-dvd.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

Non-free use disputed for Image:Postcardbandit.jpg[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Postcardbandit.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:08, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Little context in Talk:Back Palm[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Talk:Back Palm, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Talk:Back Palm is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Talk:Back Palm, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it did not nominate Talk:Back Palm itself. Image source problem with Image:Calm-logo.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Calm-logo.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:31, 16 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Fair use rationale for Image:Sledgehammer-dvd.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Sledgehammer-dvd.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Snake venom[edit]

I noticed your comments about order

Oxyuranus microlepidotus
Pseudonaja textilis
Oxyuranus scutellatus

This is correct but relates to venom toxicity only. Yield is also a factor as to how deadly a snake is.

First figure is LD50 mg/Kg (mouse - because of lack of human volunteers) and second venom tield (mg). Do the maths.

Oxyuranus microlepidotus 0.010 44
Oxyuranus scutellatus 0.064 120
Notechis scutatus 0.118 35
Acanthophis antarcticus 0.338 78
Pseudechis australis 1.910 180
Pseudonaja texlilis 0.040 2

Of course, the most dangerous snake in the world is Naja naja because people live where it lives. Unfortunately I can't use these figures in an article beause the reference includes too many pesonal milking recordsEuc (talk) 23:38, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
