April 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Rdp060707. I wanted to let you know that one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to React Native—has been undone because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thank you. ----Rdp060707|talk 09:07, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Custom software. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [1] MrOllie (talk) 11:56, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

May 2021[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did at Quora, you may be blocked from editing. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. - DVdm (talk) 18:32, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your help desk question[edit]

You asked what was promotional about your edits. Let me give you one example. Here, you refer to "engaging benefits". To describe your product in this way would require an independent review of the product, written by someone who was not prompted by your company to provide this opinion. Then there is "near-native performance". What is that? We need a clear explanation, ideally from someone independent of the company. Even if those words were used, they would have to be a quote from an independent reviewer. The word "optimize" is clearly promotional. We would need a better word explaining what that means. And "your" would never be used except in a direct quote. — Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 16:17, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
