Re: Please error check what I have done.[edit]

Hello and thank you for your message. With my understanding that no particular reference-style is any more correct than the other, I'd say that your references look just fine. My "personal preference" is to insert the {{cite}} directly into the sentence (in-line) where it applies, but I don't think it would be fair of me to suggest that you do this. If you are planning a large edit, just be WP:BOLD and go for it. I can always return in a few days time to make any adjustments or tweaks if needed. I don't mind at all. :)  -- WikHead (talk) 21:23, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Steam tug Portland DYK schedule[edit]

Thanks for the barnstar! I was happy to help. I had already been planning to write an article on the Portland very soon, but you beat me to it. I had gathered a few references (but only a few) and had gone to downtown Portland on July 15 to photograph the sternwheeler arriving – the first time I have ever had the opportunity to photograph it in operation, even though I live in Portland – but had not even started to draft an article.
By now, I'm sure you are aware that the DYK nomination has been "promoted" and therefore will appear on the Main Page soon, but since you might not have enough DYK experience to know how to find the schedule, I am leaving this note to tell you that the article is scheduled to appear on the Main Page tomorrow, August 17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time (maybe 8-4 in your time zone), as indicated on the page Template:Did you know/Queue, where the Portland "hook" is currently in Queue 5. I'm disappointed that the photo was not included, not just because it was my photo and that I thought it was a good photo (even at tiny DYK thumbnail size the steam plume is clearly visible, and when enlarged the churning paddle wheel is also visible), but also because the article would have gotten a lot more page views if it had been at the top of the list and with a photo (probably 3,500+). However, it's still good publicity for this interesting article, and at least the DYK appearance will occur during the best time slot (of the three) for a West Coast subject; it could have run from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m., after all. Anyway, be sure to check Wikipedia's Main Page tomorrow to see your article there. Cheers, SJ Morg (talk) 18:46, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Prior Wikipedia editing is not required; assistance will be available the day of the event. Attendees should bring their own laptops and cords.

Rollback granted[edit]

Hi Name Omitted. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! — MusikAnimal talk 21:04, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for December 3[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Alaska Marine Highway, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Metlakatla. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:52, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
