Dom Sindikata[edit]

Hello. Yes, I added the text you are referring to. It was part of an article written by the publicist and Belgrade (architecture) chronicler Nenad Novak Stefanović for daily newspaper Politika. Politika didn't publish this on its internet site. For further info, maybe you can contact him through Facebook (I have no account) at https://sr-rs.facebook.com/nenadnovak.stefanovic, or through Politka itself at redakcija@politika.rs. There is also this, but I don't know it helps: http://beogradskonasledje.rs/kd/zavod/stari_grad/zgrada_doma_sindikata.html

I am not an art historian nor an architect, but if its any worth, here is my insight. First, Petričić really created an illusion that two buildings, old and new one, are one object, which may dazzled the authorities. Second, regarding Dom Sindikata, ornamentation refers more or less only to the facade slabs (tiles) which are not monochromatic, instead shine in multi colors, just like to old Retirement Fund building. There are barely any ornaments in terms of facade plastics, but the Retirement Fund building is also that way, it is not heavily ornamented either. So, maybe when the authorities looked at the, indeed massive and sturdy complex of Retirement Fund-Dom Sindikata, and saw that nothing protrudes from the facade, they said OK. Take care. Thanks a lot for both your insight and suggestions for further research! I can work with that. Best, Nanouukk (talk) 17:55, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
