In terms of photographing paintings, buying a painting does not give you the copyright to the image, even if you photograph it yourself. In order to upload a photograph of a painting, either the underlying painting must be public domain or you must be able to prove that the painter has licensed it or transferred ownership of the copyright (not the painting itself) to you. --Moonriddengirl ^(talk) 16:40, 11 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
