Nomination of In the Hell of Dixie (film) for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article In the Hell of Dixie (film) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/In the Hell of Dixie (film) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

The image has been deleted from Wikipedia because of licensing issues. There's no point in trying to link to it because it is gone. And Wikipedia will not work with a link to an external image. If you own the copyright to the image and you want Wikipedia to use then upload it again with the proper license. Meters (talk) 20:42, 12 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]


UPDATE: I sent in 2 emails the other day to your admins at the request of an admin. The emails had a sentence giving user rights to the images and to the plot of film. This was all under the direction of a helpful admin. I don't know if I wait and they send me a reply or just wait a few more days and put the photos back up.Nativebullet (talk) 12:34, 14 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

New Username[edit]

UPDATE: My goodness. A couple days ago an admin suggested I change my name from Richard Whetstone. So I submitted a change. I several sites I use the name Nativebullet. I created that name. Yes, I am Nativebullet Films. I am the only person in Nativebullet Films. My real name is Eric F. Adams. Please, just tell me what y'all want my name to be. I don't know why anyone would have suggested a change from your original name unless it was because using a real name is not always a good idea. Regardless, your current username is not acceptable. It's very clearly a violation of the username policy as a promotional name. We don't care what name you use as long as it doesn't violate username policy.Go back to your original name if you like, use "Bob at Nativebullet" or something along those lines if you want to keep the connection to the company, or make up something new. Please note that changing your username does not remove the conflict of interest. There is still a major concern with you writing an article about your own company and the film that you wrote, directed, produced, edited and starred in. Read WP:COI. Okay Meters, I will submit a name change. Gosh, something completely new and different. I have one admin telling one thing and now you are saying different. How can it be conflict of interest? I didn't write the original page. I'm just perfecting it. Beside, 80%-90% of films, music, etc...is done by a member of the company if not the artist himself. I have witnessed this a 1,000 times. Why are you so focused on me? This film's page is in draft mode.

I'm not focussefd on you. In fact, I'm tired of spending time on this. I edited the article so it's on my watchlist and I see all the edits. As for why it's a conflict of interest, for the third time, read WP:COI. Using Nativebullet as your username when it is the name of your company is clearly a COI username. Writing about a movie written by you, produced by you, directed by you, edited by you, and starring you is as clear a conflict of interest as is possible, regardless of your username. Claiming that you didn't write the article is a bit odd. Changing your username does not change the fact that you wrote the entire article and now have the draft. The edit history of the draft shows that that edits by your first username to the article, and those by your second username to the draft are now listed as having been down by you, as user Crownation.
If and when the draft shows that your movie is notable per WP:MOVIE then you can submit it for new article review, but it will need some serious revisions first. For example, the extensive quotes of yourself are not appropriate. Meters (talk) 20:53, 14 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of things:

  • Don't use external links in the article body. If it's a reference for something then create a proper reference. There's no point in linking to an external URL when you should use a wikilink. If the company that does not have a Wikiarticle and the statement does not need a ref just leave it as plain text. The external link will just be removed form the article. External links can be included in an External Links section, but only if they contribute to the article. I doubt the link to Camp Motion Pictures' URL would qualify for inclusion in the External Links sections.
  • Your IMDB ref is an inappropriate reference. You're pointing to page that does not even mention your film. That doesn't support your claim that they distribute the film or anything they say about it. For that matter, IMDB is generally not considered to be a reliable source since it is user generated. Ok. I will remove the IMDB reference. Thanks so much for your close supervision. I have just seen IMDB reference in over 20 films here on wiki so I thought it was appropriate. Just a comment, Meters. I am creating a draft and I get such quick feedback that is always. "You can't do this. You can't to that. Remove this. Remove that". Nearly everything that is suggested to me is complete contradicting everything I see on wiki pages. For instance, what you said above.... I went and click on the first film I thought of and I see a direct example of what I did, but yet it has been on this page for years. Look at Primer film. But yet you say to remove it on this page I am creating. I just do understand the subjective inconsistencies. {{subst:04:19, December 16, 2015‎ |Crownation }}

I appreciate your input. Thanks. How am I wasting my time with the edits? I made the plot short. I took out the imdb reference, even though every 3rd film i click on has this. I deleted the long quote. I am doing everything to conform. These edits and procedures (user rights email, etc.) are everything you suggested so I hope I'm not "wasting" my time. I do want your help, it's just there are never suggestions about how to make something work. There are never positive suggestions. There are just "you can't do this and that". Don't give up on me.
