I'm new at this so please excuse me if I do this wrong, but in your pronunciation of bruit I believe it should be BROO ee at least according to Mastering Healthcare Terminology, by Betsy J. Shiland pg. 282 that is the spelling of the pronunciation.

Also would like to see added from Paramedic Anatomy and Physiology, by Bob Elling, MPA, REMT-P: Kirsten M. Elling, BS, REMT-P and Mikel A Rothenberg, MD pg. 108 A bruit is a "wooshing" sound indicating chaotic flow in a major blood vessel. Hardening of the arteries often causes bruits.
