The article Sheriff Olanrewaju has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. ... discospinster talk 00:14, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest guidelines[edit]

Hello Nebiddle. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Hairhorn (talk) 01:02, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I do not know how to talk here. I am updating the Nigeria writers list with authors that have published works but have been left out of the list. I am creating a listing for the authors that do not have a wikipedia listing. I started a listing for sheriff olanrewaju in my user section but when I edited the Nigerian writers page it "forced" me to create an official listing though I was not ready for it. Conflict of interest is only that I am Muslim and want these Muslim writers to be listed. It happens that my company Blue Olive Productions sponsored the lastest book by Olanrewaju but it is not necessary to mention. I would be happy for someone non-partisan to create the required edits, especially because I find this editing creation system so confusing I an pulling my hair out. end of rant. Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to List of Nigerian writers. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Amsaim (talk) 07:02, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

--- I am a little upset at the citation requirements. Sheriff Olanrewaju has five published books two of them listed with iqrabooksng dot com there are four other authors I need to add to the list. I am listing them here on the wikipedia so they can be found on a search request. I do not have access to printed verifiable works inside of Nigeria as I am in Canada. I have a contact on the ground researching and gathering the names who should be listed here. As I am venturing into Nigeria with a publishing/distibution service I am seeking little known/unknown authors (unknown to the world at large) and so this is my mission. Very sorry to offend. Sheriff Olanrewaju[edit]

I've removed your latest edit to Sheriff Olanrewaju, because it appeared to be copied from another webpage; see WP:COPYVIO. Hairhorn (talk) 05:26, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It is the same text I received in an email from the author when I asked for his bio. I tried to put a description up in my own words and was warned I was too close to the author so I used a word-for-word text the author uses for his bio description. Should I paste a copy of the email here for proof? Thanks! Nebiddle (talk)
