February 2009[edit]

Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to List of Navy SEALs, as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' I have been removing Charles Hoelzel because up until today, I haven't been able to find one single article mentioning this individual's name anywhere on the Internet and how he is a "notable SEAL." I performed a search on NavySEALs.com, perused the UDT/SEAL museum website, and searched a database of Navy Cross winners at LegionofValor.com and came up with nothing on this individual. I was able to dig up one article from USA Today here: [1] that states that Hoelzel was Marine Force Recon, not a Navy SEAL. It also mentions that he was held captive for 13 months in Beirut, something I'm currently researching to find out if that is true or not. Atlantabravz (talk) 00:19, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hoelzel[edit]

I hate to rain on your parade, but Charles Hoelzel did not graduate from BUD/S Class 117. As a matter of fact, you can find Hoelzel's entry on this website: POWNetwork.org. The article from USA Today quotes Hoelzel directly, so I'm not sure how they only interviewed Andretti. I suggest you get your facts straight and properly contribute to the Wiki project without also giving bona fides to or vouching for a non-SEAL who is definitely not notable even if he had graduate from training and proceeded to join the Teams. If you are, in fact, who you say you are, you should clear up this matter because you should know better than to do these things. Atlantabravz (talk) 21:13, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
