However, when editing Aurangzeb please note that the article content has always been hotly contested, and you'll likely see many reverts and comments. Also, why do you keep saying you are forced to block me? I seriously doubt that you have that authority, or ability for that matter. Please show this proof that the picture is a true depiction. Fine that you are from the town, and want to enlighten people. I did discuss it for a couple days and you never responded. I even posted links in the discussion page to show how he really looked. You still didn't respond. This is why the picture was taken down. It's better to have no picture than to have an incorrect one. You know that's not how a full blooded Ethiopian looks. New page patrol

Hello Nefirious,

I actually do very little new page patrol so I am not the best to assist you here. I assume that you have found the New page patrol project and know about the Special:new pages and the patrolled button. If you want to become an admin, I suggest that you use the edit summary all the time. Under My preferences - editing tick "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary". There are some toold like Twinkle.

Other things you may want to practice talking to people more. And you will have to learn about copyright and fair use. Do you know how to add categories? HotCat is available under the Editing Gadgets in your preferences. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:22, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Tagging

Could you kindly explain how does the entire Saini article qualify for a clean up tag? The article has over 200 references and is generally very well cited. Kindly be more precise and specific in your inputs for any constructive edits to happen. Instead of tagging the entire article , consider tagging speficic sections which you think need quality improvement. This would be found more helpful for other editors to make constructive changes in an itemized manner, quickly and effectively. Tagging the entire article for clean up without any explanation can easily be misconstrued and leads to use of unnecessary bandwidth and edit warring.

Please note I have removed a blanket clean up tag for now but you can place it back if you have a more persuasive explanation. Please make sure that you leave that explanation on the discussion page if you place the tag again so that the editors of this article could respond to it constuctively in a specific and itemized manner.

With regard to splitting the article in smaller articles, wikipedia notability criterion also comes into play. Not all sections of this articles may qualify that criterion and yet are pertinent enough to merit inclusion in this article as they have secondary source references. Hi, checking out your upload at File:Barbarian invasion.jpg, I think this may not comply with the WP:FAIRUSE policy. "For representational purposes" is not quite a reason. This map could be redrawn by some one, so I reckon it fails the replacability criteria. You don't seem to have started using the edit summary yet either! You can tag with the speedy delete, or you can ask me to delete it for you. I think the alternative is that you down load a map of Europe, of which you should be able to find plenty on commons, and draw on those invasions yourself, together with any labeling required. If the book is very old it may be public domain. When was it published and where? You may be able to find an old book with a map too, this history should not have changed much in the last 100 years. An administrator will need to have a good idea of copyright and how it applies to Wikipedia, so this is a chance to prove your skill! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:00, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Horse domestication

Hi, I reverted your reclassification or Domestication of the horse because I don't believe we ever took the article to GA review and we can't do a GA class without outside approval. If I was in error and the article was approved without my noticing, let me know. We'd like to take it to GA some day, but haven't had the time to do it yet. Montanabw^(talk) 18:09, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi Nefirious, I just noticed your comment on Montanabw's talk page. She is correct in saying that individual editors cannot award articles GA status without going through a GA nomination process. Please see the good article nominations page for more information. Also, WP is not about "bagging awards", it is about improving articles. After taking a quick look at what appears to be your main focus at this point, History of Weapons, I would also point you to the page on reliable sources. Sites such as absoluteastronomy.com, youtube.com and about.com are generally not considered reliable. However, I wish you good luck on your quest for GA, and please let me know if you need any help with anything. I've reviewed quite a few GA nominations, as well as nominating several articles of my own, so I can usually point out things that are likely to become an issue at GA. Hope this helps. (Noogies Dana) so says the lady with more GAs than me! LOL! That said, the bottom line is that I think the domestication article is close to GA, but once it gets nominated, every flaw in the article is immediately pounced upon and anyone putting it up needs to have about two weeks of mental space to address the issues that arise. And that's when some pain in the butt isn't trying to derail the nomination !  :-P And for me, that will not occur until August at the earliest due to that thing called real life... My take is that maybe we put it up over at the talk page for WPEQ for "pre-GA" review and see what sort of bugs come up that may need to be worked out. A person willing to be the workhorse on the piece is a good start, and I personally put a lot of hours into helping it get where it is now (many other good folks contributed, so the work is by no means all mine) but feel there are a couple hiccups that are yet to be smoothed out. Ratings and importance

When looking through some articles I contribute to recently I ran across a note you left on the editor that began an article of interest to me. In the post you stated that editors who write the srticle should not rate the article themselves but be an uninvolved editor. Since I have done this before I am concerned that I do not know where to locate the guideline to understand it better nad be within such a policy. Could you direct me to the policy page please? I'm sorry, you may have misunderstood the question. I meant the Class=B Importance=Top ratings, not the GA review. I am aware of the policy as a member of Project GA and am in the process of reviewing an article at present for GA.--Amadscientist (talk) 06:11, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Also, this a general question, envolving myself and I am not envolved in accessing any article for impotance or class at the moment, but wanted to find the policy in regards to rating the article. What I am basicaly asking is this, if an editor starts an article and adds a project he should rate it's class as stub or start, depending on article size and quality, is it the guidline to wait for discussion for importance? Firstly is you're going to make extensive use of books and web citations there are specific citation tools to help you with this.

Template:Cite web is for web citations. Hi again, I've been through the article and changed some of the references. I would suggest you make more use of page numbers rather than just references to a book. Also watch some of your references as they are confusing e.g. Bachrach, Procopius, Agathias and the Frankish Military - are you trying to reference Bachrach or Bachrach's reference to Procopius? Don't refer to other peoples source material it makes your reference third hand. If you don't have access to their source material just cite the one you have. Again there was one reference you had to zeenews which just referred to a BBC article. I've changed this to a reference direct to the BBC article as it's then a first hand reference. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. 1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.

Tourist attractions in Aurangabad district

I have moved the article Tourist attractions in Aurangabad to Tourist attractions in Aurangabad district and included the famous Ajanta, Ellora caves and many others. But, I believe some of the important tourist sites like Bibi ka Maqbara and Gates of Aurangabad be included in the Aurangabad article as they describe the history of the city. I think you have to go for the assessment of Tourist attractions in Aurangabad district as you created it as Tourist attractions in Aurangabad.

I have been working hard to improve this article. I hope to get it to the quality of a Good Article. I think you rated this article back as Revision as of 17:52, 27 June 2009 . Could you take a look at it again as I have made major improvements to it lately. If you see additional improvements I can make, please give me some input. I've also added some battle information in each of the books of the epic poem between Scipio and Hannibal and the Carthaginians. Do you see other ideas I could do to get it potentially to a Good Article? Does it warrent a review of Class in the Military history Wikiproject? Proposed deletion of Basso block

The article Basso block has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Lacks context or any references that indicate it's notable (other than mentioning), and is a borderline dictionary definition except it doesn't even have a definition. I had to google to find out what it is, and doing so doesn't suggest it's notable.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
