Experiential Marketing

Hi, it isn't clear why you added the tag. As far as I can tell, there isn't any blatent advertising on the page. The only link to an outside closed site is experientialforum.com.

The other references are to show growth. In fact, there seem to be a lack of actual references because the category of marketing is so new. I couldn't find references to 'experiential marketing' mentioned in the media elsewhere, so I was under the impression that it was okay to use a quote from a newspaper article so long as I provided the correct source and citation.

What can I do to assist? Zotter 14:35, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

okay, yes, please do take a stab at this page! Thank you kindly for your time. Zotter 19:25, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

NeilN - - I moved your attack warning to the user's talk page, where this sort of discussion is more appropriate. KHM03 21:42, 28 September 2005 (UTC)

While doing some cleanup I've come across the transclusion on this page. So here's the official infobox:

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template.

Why is there a copyright notice on History of Shortland Street. It is simply a subpage of Shortland Street. I only moved the History text. It's not breaking copyright. Liamodwyer13 05:24, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

SD removal explanation on True darkness

You marked True darkness for speedy deletion, citing criterion G1 (Nonsense). If you read that criterion, it says:

Patent nonsense and gibberish, an unsalvageably incoherent page with no meaningful content. This does not include: poor writing, partisan screeds, obscene remarks, vandalism, fictional material, material not in English, badly translated material, implausible theories, or hoaxes.

This page seems like either an implausible theory, a hoax, or both, which means it doesn't fall under G1. Tlesher 18:24, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this. I understand your position, but given the Wikipedia definition (not the dictionary definition!) of WP:NONSENSE, I don't think it qualifies (certainly not under definition 1, and arguable not under 2).
In any event, I think the end result will be (and should be) deletion either way--it's just a question of how. Tlesher 19:19, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

CSD Tagging

Answers.com is a wikipedia mirror, so its not copyvio :) Corpx 22:45, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Pretty sure it is from wikipedia. It says "This entry is from Wikipedia, the leading user-contributed encyclopedia.". Health Belief Model looks to be article mirrored there. However, it appears to be a straight up copy of that article, so I'll nominate it for CSD again. You can reply here because I have this on my watch list! Corpx 00:55, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
    • I think there are two entries on that page, denoted by the blue title bars. One is sourced from wikipedia, one is not. --NeilN 01:01, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
    • You're right, I think this content did come from "Encyclopedia of Public Health", which is copyrighted. The Health Belief Model also came from there, so I'll tag that also! Sorry about that! Corpx 01:09, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Looks like both are fixed Corpx 02:57, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

No problem with the prod, I was just moving out of another article where it didn't belong. If it gets deleted, that's OK with me. :) PC78 02:33, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Copyright status of Marshall Becker

Hello. I did not post any of the information on the now deleted Marhsall Becker page. I merely created it to move what was posted on the disambiguation page at Becker, which should not have been posted there by user 80.8.193.220, as stated in the page edit summary.
Maybe this info was not deemed appropriate for encyclopedia altogether, but it sure wasn't appropriate on the redirect page. I only moved the data out of it for anybody else to do whatever the heck they want with it (be it to write it better, or deletion, in this case), which then is none of my concern. I did what had to be done for the Becker disambiguation page.
Bottom line: I did not post, nor endorse anything said on the Marshall Becker page. I followed wikipedia guidelines to put it in a page. Please kindly undo/remove your warning from my talk page, and eventually, put it on 80.8.193.220's.
Thank you.Happypal 05:58, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you, sorry for the misunderstanding. Next time I'll look more into what I'm moving to avoid this. Cheers. Happypal 06:19, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

anandmurti gurumaa

hi, thanks for your help in the anandmurti gurumaa page. I did talk to User talk:Shikhapunjani and the user has agreed not to make further edits. Please let me know if you still think it has got some non-NPOV content, I will definitely try to put it more neutrally. thanks. Thesatyakaam 16:50, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

I removed the speedy tag from this article as I don't think it meets the criteria for speedy deletion. I explained more on the talk page. --Darksun 21:05, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

While I fully agree that this article is nonsense in some meanings of the word, I'm not entirely sure that it meets the patent nonsense guidelines, since it's neither random text nor nonsensical prose - as a reasonable person, I can make sense of it. I did consider putting a speedy delete tag on this on the grounds of WP:SNOW, but I decided to play safe and prod it instead - having been advised to do so by an administrator regarding a similar situation. However, I've decided to leave your tag on, if an admin sees it he can decide whether or not to delete on grounds of snow or otherwise. --Darksun 21:15, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Just a note since I've recently disputed two of your speedy tags, I'm not Wikistalking you, I guess we're both on new page patrol :) --Darksun 21:17, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Not a problem, I noticed the rest of your speedies were fine and was curious :) ELIMINATORJR TALK 00:00, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

I've removed your CSD from this article for the time being. There is barely enough here to even call the article a stub, but I did source out the subject and I feel there is enough information on him to pass WP:BIO. Per the article's discussion page, I'm giving the user a day to improve the article or I'm going to retag it under A3. Trusilver 02:28, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

  • No problem. I've added an under construction tag so it doesn't get speedied again. --NeilN 02:34, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Subst warnings

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When using certain templates on talk pages, as you did to User talk:Jellyfishburger, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:uw-test1}} instead of {{uw-test1}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Thank you. Flyguy649 talk contribs 07:10, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

You may want to work on your article in a sandbox user sub-page before moving it to the mainspace. In there, every article is equally available for review no matter how old it is. --NeilN 22:48, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

I don't use it for small articles, although, strictly speaking I know I should. You may want to work on your patience!! Look, no big deal. Just a suggestion, that you shd give people a chance before pouncing. It's just a tad annoying. Enough said. hjuk 22:54, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Adoptable

I think that {{Copy to Wiktionary}} might be a more appropriate tag than {{db|wikipedia is not dictionary}}, for this page. You might want to check out the full list at {{Deletiontools}} --Tagishsimon (talk)

Sorry. Try Template:Deletiontools, or look to the right side of the Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion page. In general, anything in {{}} brackets such as {{foo}} can be found as Template:foo. --Tagishsimon (talk)
Yup, agreed, the external links are getting spammy. The article is - if the concept of the adoptable is as it says - probably becoming worthwhile enough. A google on "adoptable" shows results which may or may not bear out the article. I'd hold fire and see what happens to Wajas, for a day or two ... it seems to have been created by the same person. --Tagishsimon (talk)

Tagging of River City Jim

Another editor recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on River City Jim. I do not think that River City Jim fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because articels about fictional works are not subject to A7. I have tagged this with prod instead. DES (talk) 05:00, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Frankly., I'm a little dubious about A7 for webcontent altogether. It made some sense when it was for web sites. There was strong consensus that the A7 for real people not be extended to fictional characters, nor to works of fiction. (Articles about albums are not subject to A7, even is released only over the web.) Any article that starts out by describing itself as being about an anime series is IMO not a proper subject of an A7 speedy. Some may be speedy deletable for being blatant advertisements, some under other criteria, many will fit prod. Prod is a very useful device. Some will prove to be notable, even though notability was not at first asserted. DES (talk) 05:29, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi NeilN,

What's wrong with The Return of the Phantom? The publisher does not hold the copywrite. It's held by the author, my spouse. Please contact etienne de mendes at etienne@returnofthephantom.com for any permissions necessary.

Nothing is quoted from the book. Only the title and description are on the page.

Deleting a page

Hi, this is a message regarding the Wedigtv article. Is it possible for me to delete the article myself as I created it and do not want it to exist anymore or do I have to wait for an administrator to delete it? It would be an uncontroversial deletion. RE:VP

Are you refering to the edit summary i wrote in regards to VP warning me? Tiptoety 23:39, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes, it is very frustrating. First VP is warning wrong users left and right, so i am unable to use it, and now TW refuses to work all together. I have not programs to fight vandalism, i have no idea what to do! AHH!! Tiptoety 23:45, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. GreenJoe 00:54, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

I'll leave this on with a couple of notes.
