Ok, let me put it this way. You create an article about Zlatan Beckham in the morning. I create an article about the same topic in the afternoon. Not realising one already exists, I create it at a different location - Zlat Beckham. The two pages are later merged, because we can't have two articles about the same topic but we need to maintain the page histories of both. Do you understand that? It's quote a common occurence. It's also what happened with the Charlie Scott page, except the earlier one was in a sandbox rather than mainspace. Do you understand that? If so, what point are you trying to make?
