File source problem with File:Prayurawongse.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Prayurawongse.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:10, 1 March 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — neuro(talk) 17:10, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please use "Preview"[edit]

Hello Biggie. I would like to invite you to use the Wikipedia Preview Funktion, because "saving the same article a large number of times in quick succession makes it harder for people to check what changed, and clogs up the page history." Thank you very much. --hdamm (talk) 17:18, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits, it is recommended that you use the preview button before(!) you save. I've marked that button in the picture. Thank you. --hdamm (talk) 12:11, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

April 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Yodfa, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. --AbsolutDan (talk) 22:05, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Mahidol University. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Page titles[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Boromma Racha III a different title by copying its content and pasting it into Borommaracha III. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Disambiguation link notification for March 16[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Prasat Thong, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ayutthaya (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

File permission problem with File:Logomahidol.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Logomahidol.jpg, which you've sourced to No evidence that this is PD. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. Orphaned non-free image File:Logomahidol.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Logomahidol.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:59, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Italicising noble ranks[edit]

Hi. I notice that you tend to italicise the noble ranks in noble titles, e.g. Chaophraya Mahasena. My thinking is that while the word chaophraya should be italicised when used alone per the foreign terms rule e.g. He was raised to the rank of chaophraya, it shouldn't be when it's used as part of the full title, since it then becomes part of a proper name itself. --Paul_012 (talk) 19:18, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sources for maps[edit]

Hello NewFrontierHistoryEng,

thank you very much for creating and adding maps on Southeast Asian history. I noted, however, that you have not indicated your sources of information, you just write "own work". But the information you use in creating the maps must come from somewhere. WP:Verifiability applies to all parts of Wikipedia, not only texts, but also images, and certainly maps on history, which can be quite contentious.

In particular, I stumbled over File:Lanna1883.jpg in the article Kingdom of Chiang Mai, where Tak is marked as part of the dominions of the Chet Ton dynasty. This surprised me as I had thought Tak always belonged to Siam proper (Ayutthaya, then Thonburi and finally Rattanakosin) and not Lan Na or Chiang Mai. So I would like to learn where you found that information.

Thank you and kind regards, RJFF (talk) 12:30, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. The th:นครเชียงใหม่:Thai Wikipedia article uses maps that do not include Tak (specifically for the era of Inthawichayanon's rule, in which also your 1883 map is dated). I wonder what this discrepancy is due to. --RJFF (talk) 12:43, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for appreciating my work. If you can read Thai, you can look into Chang Mai Chronicles or Tamnan Pheun Mueang Chiang Mai. It says;
"In 1785, the Governor of Tak submitted himself to Kawila at Pasang, bringing his own son Noi Supha (clearly a Lanna name) to serve Kawila. Since then, Tak, Rahaeng and Thoen came under authority of Kawila at Pasang."
"In 1789, the Governor of Tak was old and incompetent. Kawila of Chiang Mai traveled down to Bangkok with his subordinate Noi Supha, asking King Rama at Bangkok to appoint Noi Supha as the new governor of Tak. King Rama then appointed Noi Supha, a Lanna official, to be Phraya Anuchit Chonlathee the governor of Tak".
Since then, Tak had been kind of joint administration or overlapping authority between Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Both considered Tak to be within their jurisdictions. In 1843, an official from Tak named Thau Khuean Kaew, which was clearly a Lanna title, went to inspect the British-ruled Moulmein. Next year, in 1844, a Siamese official from Tak Luang Yokkrabat also went to Moulmein. This may signify dual Lanna-Siamese authority in Tak.

But for 1883, Lanna authority over Tak may be doubtful. I will consider editing the map to left Tak out of Chiang Mai kingdom area. Thank you for your feedback. NewFrontierHistoryEng (talk) 05:11, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
