that other matter

Hi Brad, were are we on the other matter? Thanks. Malke 2010 (talk) 17:18, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

Brad, you haven't responded to an email I sent a while back and you stated this matter would be taken care of after the case closed. That's happened, I've been patiently waiting since last spring, can you please respond. You either are going to take care of this or you are not. Either way, please let me know. Thank you. Malke 2010 (talk) 16:53, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

Josh Gorand & Baseball Bugs

Newyorkbrad - I pinged you on the proposed decision talk page. You're opposed/uncertain about topic bans for both of these editors. I left some comments from policy and other Arbcom cases that directly relate to your rationales. Have you had a chance to read them?--v/r - TP 13:39, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

I've read everything on the proposed decision talkpage, including your comments, and my current opinions remain as stated. My opinions about these or any users are subject to change if there is further poor behavior while the case is pending; and these editors are on notice that discretionary sanctions are available if they are disruptive in this area after the case ends. Newyorkbrad (talk) 15:27, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
Did you get the email I sent Arbcom about the accusations on Sue's talk page concerning Arbs themselves?--v/r - TP 16:16, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

Manning naming dispute

No offence, but that entire ArbCom over that imbroglio is one colossal "mountain out of a mole hill". Ultimately, despite only remotely touching this and my limited experience with ArbCom it makes me substantially have less regard for ArbCom and for all matters of bureaucracy at Wikipedia. One big overreacting Zimbardo experiment waste of my time and that of all of those involved. It's really counterproductive policing people for expressing an entirely valid opinion...if someone wants to propose something stupid or political, they shouldn't be shocked if they get stupid or political comments from the other side. I already have little regard for the administrators, and this just adds to it.--ColonelHenry (talk) 00:22, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

Are you free on Sunday? Join us for a special Wikimedia DC WikiSalon!

Wikimedia DC invites you to join us for a special WikiSalon at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library's Digital Commons Center. We will gather at 3 PM on Sunday, October 13, 2013 to discuss an important topic: what can Wikipedia and the DC area do to help each other? We hope to hear your thoughts and suggestions; if you have an idea you would like to pursue, please let us know and we will help!

Following the WikiSalon, we will be having dinner at a nearby restaurant, Ella's Wood Fired Pizza.

If you're interested in attending, please sign up at the event page. We look forward to seeing you there! Kirill [talk] 02:33, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

Grumble

I'm sure this is unintentional, but my sporadic interaction with the last couple cases has me thinking about running again, if only to take my grumbling and difficult behavior in-house. I'm sure that I'd lose in a landslide because (a) no one remembers me and (b) after ten years I have a fair share of people who don't wish me well. Still, it might be fun for the first two weeks. Mackensen (talk) 23:23, 10 October 2013 (UTC)

I'd strongly encourage you to run again. There is going to be substantial turnover on the Committee in this election, and a member who remembers the experiences of an earlier era of the Committee would be very valuable. You should be aware, though, that the nature of our workload is very different now from what it was when you were an arbitrator; we take far fewer cases, but the ones we take are on average much harder, and there is significant off-wiki work as well. I would be glad to discuss if you'd like to follow up. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 00:03, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
Misery loves company. (?) Jehochman Talk 01:50, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
Mackensen, I fell into (a), but I'd agree with NYB. From what I've seen, I think you'd make an excellent returning member. WormTT(talk) 07:52, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
I'd support you! I met you just recently in the arb case called Infoboxes and found your contributions there to the point. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:07, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
I certainly remember you as an excellent checkuser and when I saw you commenting in the case referenced above I thought pity you are not on the commitee now. Agathoclea (talk) 08:49, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

Verdi

I have a question for you two: is "create an article" identical to "create a page"? - Perhaps you saw it on the Main page on Verdi's birthday. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:01, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Context: [1] SandyGeorgia (Talk) 01:01, 12 October 2013 (UTC)
Clarification here, please. (Sorry, I was not aware that page existed, I am new to the process.) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:08, 12 October 2013 (UTC)
Excuse me for changing the header level. My question was immediately connected to the Grumble and makes sense only in the context, Verdi was inserted (not by me). I am simply curious. If you read the related threads (my talk, ANI, arb clarification), you can observe the fast development of a phrase from a polite question to the statement "violation of restrictions", - if so (that exactly is what the above question is about), it was not intended, - that much does not need clarification. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:08, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

Question for TPWs

Is anyone else finding that edits are taking an unusually long time to save today? Newyorkbrad (talk) 16:09, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

Yes, I actually got an error twice ... I forget exactly what it said, but it suggested I try logging out and logging back in ... I saved again, and eventually, it saved my edit. Long story short, yes. Go Phightins! 17:00, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

Tarc

Is there any chance that you or one of the arbcom members can step in on the Proposal page? While I agree that not everyone agrees with what Tarc did I do see personal attacks being thrown at Tarc and two wrongs never make a right. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 00:12, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

As it happens, I've just posted there, on different lines. The real solution to this sort of sniping on the proposed decision talkpage at this stage is to get the case closed, which should be happening imminently. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 00:14, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
Okay thanks, then at the very least is there a way you can close the thread to avoid the drama being spread anymore? - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 00:15, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
No promises, but I'll see what I can do. Newyorkbrad (talk) 00:16, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, I don't see any productive comments is all only finger pointing. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 00:17, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
I probably shouldn't express an opinion as to who is doing the pointing on that page, and with which finger. Newyorkbrad (talk) 00:18, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Félix Córdova Dávila, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page William Hunt (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver).
